Best Weapon and Gear at 40?

The title say's it all...what is the best weapon and gear at lvl 40?

    Wheel of denied fate (level 43 glaive) is about the best you can get.
    Robe of blood might isn't bad either.
    With some some claw/xenobeast blood you can craft some gnarly three star wrists at the forges in SouthWest archo, random stats but fairly cheap to make if you farm the mats yourself.
    Boots of shadow fountain are nice too, +0.2 m/s and magic I think.

    Of course the 'Best Weapon and Gear at 40' is not really a great concern, these days you can level pretty quick. The equipment I mentioned can last you up to yours sixties though, so it might be worth it :/

    blood gear at 40, that stuff lasts till 60/70 usually. Robe of blood might, sleeves of blood. For weapon it depends... wheel of fate or general summers magic sword(stash) if you have the coinage otherwise 3* npc magic weapon until 47 I think then use the quest reward from killing Virridis Stormhorn. At 60 you'll get your ancient arbor.

    By doing only the BHs, you shouldnt even stay in the 40s for 5 days, if it was me Id just keep the rank gear (lvl 30 things) until 60 >.>
