I notice lots of posts on ways to be imature or people pointing out how imature others are so let's start a thread on how you can be more mature. Let's try and keep the glass half full and learn a thing or two in the process. :-)

Have at it!b:chuckle

how to be more mature in game personally is accepting blame on wipe squad while on bh or any instance most ppl just dont accept he fails

    example =
-archer showing off n taking agro
-wizard sparking when tank is just a bm or herc
-barb who cant hold agro (persoannly i barely see barbs who doesnt need chi from venos lately)
-sin who goes loose when using daggers
-cleric who tempest n DD more than heal
-veno who accidentaly lured more than 1 mob

when one of those happens the one who should be blamed start trowing the fault to others = immature b:shutup

    - dont attempt chest-beating contests when someone hits on your GF/BF, things like that should be left in highschool, especially when its something happening ingame.

    - keep your sexual cravings in check. Not everyone is in heat and feels like rutting in the fac chat.

Keep your ****ing mouth shut. That's a sure fire way to show maturity.

You really should be able to expect teens to at least have some bit of respect (well, you should be able to... one can dream, can she not?). Plus, a lot of the people playing this game aren't even teens-- you, for example.

Really, people should go by the thought that anything they do here can have IRL consequences (even though most of the time it can't). Then PWi would be a lot nicer. But, since others are just a faceless nobody on the internet... even immature adults can get caught up in the idiocy.

Either way, this was just a suggestion thread... not like any of the immature people will note it and stick to it. Though, I've been guilty of a few of the listed things-- so this thread has at least let me see that.

Lmao, designed for teens you say? I'd love to see a break down on the actual age group of players donating to the boutique. I'd be willing to bet teens are a pretty small fraction of that number.

And btw, didn't you say you stopped playing PWI, and went to something "better" ? Why don't you log off, let the rest of us troll in peace:)

Wanna be more mature in game? Ask what you don't know, listen to others with experience, and for **** sake put your e-peen away :)

^This^ Maturity in an mmorpg is inconsequential.

And the game is designed for teens and children, and not more so for adults. If it were, there would be blood, more gore, less filtering of swear words, and sexual themes.

Most of the players are age 20+, some as old as in their 50's. Maturity isn't too much to ask.

I, personally, did log off and go to something better (reactivated my P2P game). But I also still play pwi because there are things here I'd eventually like to accomplish.

Well I am not in your server so its okay. But I pretty much am a sexual theme myself. Most people that know me quite well learn that wither they like it or not.

The game is designed for teens and adults. Minimum age 13. The filters may edit language and whatnot, but take a look at some of the fashions and ask yourself if those are for "children". Even some of the female armor for that matter.

While you 'should' be able to expect teens to behave in a relatively mature fashion, in this day and age when teens tell their parents what to do (and not the other way around), run rampant and have little or no actual parental controls and guidance, society reaps what it's sown, a mass of unruly, uncontrolled, disrespectful little maggots.
Lmao, designed for teens you say? I'd love to see a break down on the actual age group of players donating to the boutique. I'd be willing to bet teens are a pretty small fraction of that number.

I never said I stopped playing PWI, learn to comprehend what you read, I said I have for the most part done little more than log in for about ten minutes over the last few days, as I was busy playing a REAL MMO.

Where in that did I say I stopped playing PWI?

    That's right. Nowhere.

Ever stopped into the Fanatics section of the forums? Looked over the post your pic thread? Just a casual perusal of that thread shows the majority to be teens and at best early 20's.

As that is likely to be as close a true representation of the overall player base as any, I base my statement on that and feel fairly confident that my statement that the game is filled with/designed for teens, is relatively accurate.

I agree, some can. Sadly, I think that far to many can't and it gives the decent kids who behave reasonably, a bad name by association.

When I was a kid, if I had ever told my mom to F-Off, she would have spun my head on my shoulders. Yet just the other day I saw a teen say that very thing to their parents in a store. Their parents response "Oh honey, you shouldn't use that language".

I told the teen they were lucky they were not my kid, I'd have slapped their mouth off their face right there in the store.

Their response: "Then I'd have called Child Protective Services and got you arrested!"

My response: "if you were my kid, the old saying, I brought you into this world, I can take you right back out, comes to mind"

Mommy the whole time was standing there fluttering her hands and being afraid to take her kid to task for being the little snot they were.

CPS is the weave and the weft of why kids do what they do and why parents are afraid to smack the **** out of them when they misbehave.

Spineless maggots breeding disrespectful larva. They should all be shot.

@Saitada: I remember a story my mom once told me. I was about 4, in a store, when a kid did that same thing. She told me that I leaned over to my mom, and, not yet had learned the art of 'whispering', told her that "That kid should get a butt-whooping." The woman was so embarrassed, she practically ran from that aisle. b:chuckle

That said, it's the parents fault sometimes (I'd say more often than not, but, meh). My father (a real deadbeat), demands why I don't respect him, then in the same phone call, says he'd call the police on my instead of punishing me himself. He hides behind the police like they are the new parents, yet blabs his mouth to me without backing it up. Or to quote my mom... "His alligator mouth and his hummingbird ****." I've never had the guts to mouth off at him, but... If both of my parents were like that, I would be just as bad as most other kids.

But it's definitely not just the teenagers that are immature. I've seen people from some of the 18+ factions on my server being just as bad. And the perverted conversations on WC are immature in their own way, definitely not all of them are made by teens. I've also had run-ins with openly drunk/hungover players from 18+ factions who decide to make a fool of themselves and harass other players.

One thing that annoys me, however, that is a definite sign of immaturity (to add to the list/topic)-- expecting things to be handed to you. If someone helps me ingame, I record their name on a notepad. If I find something nice, or have a little extra in the next few days, I'll buy and mail something to them. Usually MP/HP food as of late. Bronze charms-- little things, but, it's something that'll brighten someone's day for helping me. I can't do it for everyone, 'cause I get help a lot, but, I remember them at least. Instead, now, I've offered to help people and they'll squad me and 'demand' help, then not listen to me when I try to help (had a very nice experience with that in SP-- was doing Eido for someone, yet they wouldn't follow me to Eido.)

Edit: Apparently I've also been told to stop thanking people who help me so much, it's annoying. >> Name some other way to make them feel like they really helped someone, and I'll do it. ><"

PSEdit: Look at example "NightRage - Raging Tide" for an example of immaturity and trolling. Now, this is one of the more extreme cases of trolling, as it was meant to kill the thread entirely with pictures/get frankie to lock the thread. We call his kind "Homo Stupidious". Immediate attention is required, which involves silencing the individual and getting as far away as possible. If you encounter a "Homo Stupidious" online, as in a message board or forum service, please look for the nearest 'ignore list' or 'blacklist' to replace forcibly silencing them. In absence of any kind of 'ignore list', it might be recommended that you completely ignore said person, though, their attempts at trolling rarely go unnoticed by others of their kind. Extremely social, they will flock in large quantities to the affected thread, as if carrion birds flocking around a potential kill.
