So has anybody experimented yet with shadow escapes affect on aggro when you do not have the bosses attention?

So suppose I do just enough dmg while avoid aggro until say 75% of boss HP, then shadow escape. Would I have lost all my aggro? Then, from then on I'd be free to go all out on DD.

I don't want agro. I am squishy. So I always try not to generate too much. A good cleric will recognize that you have agro. A great cleric will see that and let you die! That sound harsh? Not to me. Know what happens when you shadow escape while the cleric tries to heal? Good so lets approach this topic of using shadow escape differently:

When and when not to use shadow escape:
    When:
PvP, soloing, any other activity where you dont have to worry about killing your cleric.

    When NOT to:
When you are in a party and the cleric is trying to be good!

from what i've noticed and others have tested and said on forums:

using shadow escape when the boss is NOT attacking you will NOT reset hate.

using shadow escape when the boss IS attacking you WILL reset hate

IE: if you had say (hypothetical number) 1200 hate on a boss, boss turns and hits you, you SE. you're hate goes back to 0

if you have 1200 hate and SE in attempt to clear hate though the boss is not attacking you, you will still have 1200 hate. so when you start hitting again you're building up from 1200, not 0

Yes, I tested this out and posted my results on this thread: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=623452

Basically, I try to steal aggro around 75% like you said, then quickly shadow escape. Doing this, I have only regained aggro once, near the end of the bosses life after a serious crit/spark fest. The tank was not that good. Other than that, I have never regained aggro after using SE as long as I had the bosses attention when I used it.

If you randomly use SE, it does work. You can check the thread for more specifics.

Wont let me edit my last post.

If you randomly use SE, it DOES NOT WORK is what I meant to say. You must have the bosses attention. Not sure why, but thats just how it goes.

Nothing, the boss will go back to the tank. The only time using shadow escape in a party is bad is if your the tank. Then.... well, you will have trouble finding parties after that (never done it, but I know it would not be good). Also, if the boss is a ? lvl, or higher then your stealth lvl, it wont work.

I'm squishy too, but I can take a hit or 4 from the bosses. My job is to DD without causing party wipes. SE is the best tool to accomplish this.

Wow. I'm surprised that I haven't thought about this yet. REALLY REALLY good idea to use Shadow Escape every once in a while during Boss Fights.

Could use this for great strat.
