Myth - True or not?

wen i was 4x, ppl in my sq says not to pik up the normal drops coz that will reduce the chances of good drops on the final boss. sometimes it did seem to work.. the others say its not related at all.
whats your opinion? (i figured this is the place where i cud get the most exp peepps =D)

    i laugh at ppl that believe these little rumours, such as dont' pick up coins, let tabber get last hit, switch lead 3 times before tabbing lol

    i say where a pair of underwear on ur head when you enter a dungeon for good luck.... hey why not maybe it will work

    myth: if you carry sadness cards with you they'll become good fortune, also which is why we have to pay 100k+ for those cards.

    If you are interested in the truth behind the rumor: if you pick up random drops you might not have enough room for good drops when you get to the boss, and so you might have to drop something yourself to make room.

    lol.. i think kiku just told how it got started :P
    but the thing is, i think this just might be right O.o call me crazy but yesterday, i told my sq not to pik up anything besides stamps during our BH run. wat happened? we got a lot of drops (no molds though) at the boss. i got a 3 star light footwear +110 HP, unidentified, 2 sockets. i think thats good :P and others got some good drops as well
    however, on other BHs, my sq normally picks up the DQ stuff, coins, etc and we get **** at the boss -.- mostly we get only coins.
    so i think this is true. im gna do this since it helped me :P + why the hell not right? xD as if the normal drops are good

    Funny thing is, these kind of myth's are even server based

    On Dreamweaver, people believe that equiping the blessing nerfs boss drops, but you don't hear anything about picking up drops or not :P

    yep, had a tabber today that was like that. first question after a boss kill with only coin was "who was wearing the blessing?"

    that was a 3x fb 39, i blacklisted that guy after some more complaining and later he got kicked from squad ^^

    i really would like to see an official statement that these myths are not true

    Random is just random. You cannot seem to decrease or increase your chances of getting stuff.

    That said, I must admit random seems to choose one or two people in each squad that will get almost everything. I've been on bh where I got absolutely nothing, and other times I've gotten almost everything. It never seems to actually be completely random.

    i guess its rumor from harshalnd server. did fb for for one player who came from HL to DW server and he told me to not pick drops....that seemed weird. so i didnt pick up drops, boss didnt drop anything and dqs+mid mats disapeared. thos rough furs and purified oils r worth more than any **** what boss can drop so why da heck wouldnt u pick them up?

    if not putting on blessing give more drops
    dont use any gears and solo fb you'll get really really good dropsb:laughb:laugh
    b:laugh then lol'd at yourself when you see a bunch of coins drop.

    This made me laugh.

    I'm going to try out with my squad. We've been bringing our low level alts and pretending that the mold drops are affected by them even though 9/10 times we get coins.

    So in summary:

    1) Don't equip blessings.
    2) Don't pick up random things.
    3) Fail your tab three times.
    4) Don't equip gears.

    Anything else?

    I picked one up in the sky of Archosaur and sold it to the NPC. As a result, I felt my manufacturing luck became better.

    I bought one from a catshop at 1 coin and sold it to the NPC. As a result, PWE decided to remove the curly hair from the template and gave me an ugly bulb hair instead.

    The good thing about random is, that it is random. That means you can make links to good/bad drops and chance + selective perception will alway proof you right. Even if you get good drops 5 times w/o blessing that doesn't proof anything. But people tend to take fitting events as evidence for their claims, while everything that contradicts those claims is just "bad luck". One could think people would see through this after some time...

    The only thing that counts in drop rates is the players lvl's. The highest chance of getting drops, if let's say you are fighting a single mob, is if youre lvl is = to the mob's lvl or if you are 1 or 2 lvls lower than the mob.
    The same thing aplies in squads. Since in bh you get to kill bosses whose lvls are considerabley lower than the squad's general lvl, the drop rate drops considerabley.
    So beleive me, the boss doesn't think ''OMG, they don't have blessings....ima drop something''
