Ok, we can change this.

There have been many times that wizards get some ****, because there are other wizards who can't seem to keep their attacking under control so they don't steal aggro. And I've been thinking. Shouldn't there be a way to fix this, considering that most of these "fail wizards" are in factions before they even hit lvl 20? Then an idea came to me.

Where are the people teaching these wizards? Why do I say this? Because I was a fail wiz at one point. Stealing aggro, leveling all the wrong skills for the wrong reasons... Hell, I even thought my barriers were supposed to be used against the element that they're strong to. It wasn't until I came across other high-lvl wizards that taught me that i wasn't exactly doing something right, and taught me some of the right things, that I found what the right thing to do was. And it was so simple. What I'm asking is, is that we have some kind of mini-convention or seminar, of high lvl wizards answering questions/teaching low lvl wizards In person, as to what they should/shouldn't do.

And it isn't like there aren't many wizards not willing to learn. I often find myself going into Etherblade and get asked questions about playing a wiz all the time. But the thing is, we would need to plan this, so we aren't just one person being swarmed by about 50 wizards, swarmed with questions. The only other problem is the location. Any suggestions or questions, possibly post here. And if you're going to be negative, at least make sure it's some form of constructive criticism instead of a flat-out flame.

Well if it were just that simple, I would have posted something different. Not every wizard looks at the forums, you know.

Kaneharo, i will PM you ingame later about this.
    I really like the idea.
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

I always read the wizard forum, I always asked other higher leveled wizards... Like in an fb, (at that time people did alot of fb's, with real commitment, not like the bh's these days...) I asked a level 65 wizard as a lvl 35 wizard how high his sandstorm was.. that kind of things.. Or i just randomly asked a high level wizard in dreamweaver as a lvl 65 wizard how high his glacial snare was and if he liked it. That really helped me learn.

I saw a wizard using pyroshell in TW once. I laughed at him in my head and used pyrogram on him over and over and watched him die to melee.

People ask me questions in game often, but I don't get around to answering everyone because I AFK a lot.

I usually help low lvl wizzys with anything they ask me, or in faction I offer to help. Problem is my main is in HDT, where there are no low lvl wizzys, so that won't work. Though in my alt's factions I do offer help :P

lol. come on. if the players are smart, they would go on the forums to learn about their class. if not, then they probably aren't going to get far. let the choice be up to them.

What the problem is, is that a lot of these people don't appear to know that these forums exist, or that in the case of a quaint few, actually believe the guides here are so you can be weaker than the people whom posted them. Personally, I just am tired of seeing wizards grouped up as aggro-stealing, squad-wiping blowhards who can't attack quickly enough to be of any use in a squad. I also want to show those just starting that although playing a wiz may be a tough class, that it's quite worth it.

I always helped and teach (even by example) on how to handle mobs/bosses etc, how to keep aggro under control, how to balance the dmg and survival , etc. Yeah, I might not know everything about this class, but I know a lot.
I remember spending hours with lowbies in duels, helping them with quests, talking about gear, weapon, advantages and disadvantages of this or that.
Making some kind of "Hogwarts school for magic" in some location on the map I don't think it will help anyone, but it might be wrong. Try it, if it works I promise I'll get back in game just to answer questions.

Kane, you could always refer them to the forums. Just copypasta the link into world chat every now and then, and such. What the problem is is getting all of the possible questions answered. To be honest, I think three+ wizzy guides is far too many. We should make a comprehensive guide, and in the beginning, give a quick lesson in how to use the search function. That way, all of the questions one could possibly have will be answered. If you guys would like, I could make the posts. Credit will be given where credit is due.

This would be much easier than holding an in-game event imo. What do you guys think?
RIP Resolve. You guys still owe me TW pay. XD

If it makes you feel good, go for it.

Learning how to play a wizard is NOT THAT HARD. It only took me about 5 minutes of reading over skills to realize that stone barrier was far superior to the others. It only took me dying once due to aggro stealing to figure out that I needed to manage my DPS, and it never happened again. I'm getting a little sick of people always preaching "Wizard sooo haaaaaard" "My class is so much more complicated than yours" "Blah blah blah QQ".

As far as I'm concerned, NO CLASS IS ANY MORE COMPLICATED THAN THE OTHERS. If people can't figure out how to play their own class, point and laugh.

wizard is hard to play. Well it used to be. All the stuff they added in the game makes leveling up easier. So you probably didnt have to spend those painful hours grinding on mobs with the chance of dying and etc. I also died a few times trying to get the right combo for each mobs. b:surrender

See my join date? That's when I started my wizard, and by december, it was level 80. I know full well the painful amount of grinding we had to do then.

Only reason it took me so long to hit 90 was because I quit for about a year xD
