What I should be doing on bosses

A.K.A. Am I doing it right?

I was helping with Khewey yesterday and as we didn't have a super-high level to assist there was 4 of us veno's healing the walker. When amp was up I would go fox, use amp and mist, then change back and go back to healing. Is that how it's done? Or is there something else I should cast in fox before I change back?

I read a thread about this the other day but I can't find it anywhere. Any assistance would be appreciated!

Yes, thats pretty much it for you atm, however i wouldve: foxform, amp, human form, ironwood, then proceed assist healing.

Mist isnt really that necessary, at lower lvls, it won't decrease the accuracy by that much. Even at lvl 10, i don't really notice that much of a difference. I believe it's basically used for pvp against archers, if you wanna fight them in fox. However combine this skill with blinding sand(genie skill) and you probably will notice a difference in pve concepts.

As for what i do for debuffing bosses (mainly TT) foxform, amp, myraid rainbow, purge-if need be (some bosses buff), then human form, ironwood, and nuke. rinse and repeat. I also try to time my debuffs with the Bm's heaven's flame, or the Pole bm's debuff.

Note: do not use ironwood right after myraid rainbow IF rainbow's physical defense debuff kicks in (reduce physical def by 100%) Reason being, if you do use it right after that kicks in, you completely knock off the 100% debuff, and will only get a 30% physical debuff instead.

Another note: myraid rainbow (foxform) is an aoe curse effect that causes random effects to targets within 15 meters of range. 4500 poison/bleed damage, mind break, and armor break (reduce magic defense/ physical def by 100%) status effects last for 9 secs, and with it being random, they sometimes do not kick in.

Myraid rainbow (human form) does the same as above, except it launches to a single target. It's not an aoe.

If you want to improve your performance i would recommend the genie skill Extreme Poison, it's a 20% debuff that stacks with Amp. Like ms Hop pointed out Ironwood would've helped in incresing damage and it may have been convenient to spark and throw a Venomous and a Blazing as well if the healing allowed you the opportunity. I must say however, 4 venos on the same pet tends to be rather the exception than the norm, and when asisiting another veno healing is best to let the pet's master handle attack/debuffing. Howl it's also a very useful debuff and a pet with a decent level of it might not be a bad idea for DD duty.

You seem to be doing fine, the sole fact you've posted about the subject shows genuine interest in playing your class correctly. Try to browse through the stickies, i'm sure you'll be able to figure out what works best for you.

Veno can be a good challenge when trying to figure out the most efficient strategies. I hope you enjoy it and wish you good luck with your gaming.

Another strategy to think of is how to maintain sparks while debuffing (especially like i do) ironwood takes 25 chi, and myraid rainbow takes 20 chi and 800 mana. Just to let you know.

Thank you all so much for your input. Yes, the tank's master was using ironwood, so I left that to him. There were no other debuffs going up though, so I kinda just jumped in and started going to town. I had my puppy with frighten going to try and save some healing. Appreciate the confirmation, I just want to be able to help as much as I can.
