Well the United State's 2010 Census is rolling around. I love reading the Census and knowing obscure things about our nation's demographic; our socio-economic, religious, ethnic, gender, and age differences that make our country so diverse. I thought it might be sort of interesting to start some sort of census here for the Sanctuary server to gather that kind of information. If this infringes on privacy or anything take this thread down please, and likewise if you don't want to post information-don't. I just thought it would be kinda fun :)

I figure religion should be taken out as not to cause any sort of potential for argument.

    Joe Biden, apart in the mind of some crazy jingoist (and i don't think this is your case), french is not, and has never been at ethnicity (study history if you want to be convinced). since centuries it's a country with different peoples (and not only white caucasian) and a lot of mixed unions that make it quickly difficult for any french who have ancestor in this country since 3 or more generations, to pretend belonging to one specific ethnic group.
    so i guess you meant white caucasian.
    Furthermore, I worked as professor during several years (in France, as I am french). Every year, I was asking my students where they were from. Among an average classroom of 20 to 30 students, I never had more than 2 who could not find a migrant among his close ancestors (up to grand grand parents).
    In my case my father is french (with suspected german and african roots, but I haven't made any research about my roots) and my mother italian (with spanish roots and surely semitic roots as my grand father was from sicily).
    my brother look semitic and often people thing he is from north Africa. Many people told I look lebanese, and when I travelled in middle east, people there though I was a local.

    I love the U.S Census, I cant wait to read the demographic results from the past decade. Especially particular categories that have peaked my interest lately (influx of certain ethnicities, as well as official unemployment numbers)

    and to the former: i'm not actually Joe Biden, he is the current vice president. although he is actually Quebecois. But I am 3rd generation American with French heritage, specifically hailing from Banyuls-Sur-Mer in southern France.

    The real joe biden is not from quebec, but got french ancestors from his mother.
    By the way, my wife, who also plays in sanctuary, is japanese.
    She is an office worker, and I am a former mathematics teacher doing a Phd (in biomedical engineering).
    And I forgot the most important: thank you for this thread. It's really a nice idea.

    I could have sworn that the name "Biden" was Quebecois. I do remember hearing that he's actually from Scranton, Penn (the hometown of the show The Office b:dirty).

    Yeah, the US is an adaptation of the UK version. The UK version takes place in Slough.
