ok so everybody knows that these r the last 2 seals u aquire in the seals branch. i just recently aquired them, and to be honest i love them b:cute if the mob is close range physical its a great combo to use with plume and cyclone. but i talked to some1 who said it was a waiste to get them. but i find them extremely useful, if i use them correctly i dont get hit. so r they worth lvling? and whats your opinoin on the 2 seals

They're extremely useful, but mostly in PvP. I don't think I've ever cast either spell against a mob.

They can be useful in PvE, just takes a little skill/knowledge. i.e. "Oh **** that big scary phys mob's coming towards me! *freeze*" or "Oh **** that big crappy tank doesn't have aggro on that mob! *sleep and heal*" It's just a very situational skill.

PvE chromatic seal is a VASTLY underused skill. For example in Fb 99 someone ALWAYS manages to aggro some mob we tried to avoid. Cast a sleep on it, ensure no one attacks it afterwords, and double holy path away = reset mob. Also in rushes in 3-2/3-3 some ppl want clerics to sleep the mobs during/prior to a rush.

The seals are amazing in PvP. In PvE, they're only worth it in special cases: eg. saving a squishy who caught aggro and is running around for help, sleeping a tough mob to debuff first, stopping a sori from running while your squad kills it, etc. The cool thing about silent seal in PvE is that if the player with aggro is out of range, it works like a nice long stun on the mob while the rest of squad can happily **** away at it. And the cooldown is short enough to use often ^^

In PvP chromatic is a life saver-- whether you're getting ninja'd or if you're on the brink of death. Silent is great vs melees and archers (for min range).

On regular grind mobs though... it's not so worth it (because of chi/mana.. considering mobs don't live that long to warrant it)

General grinding mobs they're not so useful for, but i've used both consistantly in instances, from slowing down mobs so i could heal, to freezing the rolling balls of death in tt 1-2 and 1-3, and even luring pole and nob with chromatic when we didnt have a veno with us.

Having the seals is useful. Maxing them early on is debatable, as all it does is extend the range and gives a chance to have a longer sleep/freeze. Personally I'm leveling them as i have the extra spirit/coin, but i know several clerics who have left them at lvl 1.

uses in pve (as im carebear and dodnt pvp at all apart from very rare duels with friends - 99% lost by me b:surrender)

chromatic: to seal almost-killed mob in cube before you talk to npc in these rooms when you have to kill two
to seal something you aggroed by accident and want to run from / deal with later. requires some discipline from squad, as even one hit dispels it

silent: if we dont have bm to stun runners i use this, so mob wont run back and bring friends
useful on melee mobs too (like sacrificial assault way too close for comfort)

uses in pvp i know of and even sometimes manage to pull in duel before Chilo stuns me:
chromatic: to debuff opponent and have time to channel tempest
silent: to stop melee from coming at you

They're mostly pvp skills like everyone's said. You do get to use them at times in pve though. For example if you or your squad has agro'd several mobs you can use seal's to help manage the situation.

I use both seals in PvE too. When I solo lunar and I pull 2 by mistake, I sleep one, kill the other, and go back to the slept one.

it s not so very very useful in pve.. it works fine if mob isnt aggro'ed, otherwise mob lose seal after few secs

gotta remember that seals also draw aggro on you

i use them less and less in pve. 79 skill and genie (which dont aggro at all) works way better to save nubs
