I just wanted to know, how do you use this in battle? (PVE). Do you use it like a buff or do you use it while in the middle of tanking/fighting.
TY b:thanks

It would have to be used in the middle of battle to be worth it as it only lasts 20 seconds(not long enough to be a buff).
However on the subject on it's usefulness, I am sure there are situations where it is useful... However since it uses 2 sparks it would be difficult to cast this and then keep aggro.0 -
-Use it if someone dies during a boss to give the cleric time to rez them
-Use it if you accidentally aggro multiple mobs while questing or something to give you time to manage the situation
Unless you're already almost dead when you use it, it makes you practically unkillable for 20 seconds in most situations.0 -
I love using it in a fight, just to see people rage b:laugh0

I would spam that skill like mad,Abrams - Raging Tide wrote: »I love using it in a fight, just to see people rage b:laugh
Lol that would be epically funny. Especially if other barbs use armageddon and lose because your invoke absorbed most of the damage b:laugh[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks for Flauschkatze for siggy b:cool

Mostly, it's used during instances with elite mobs and with bosses. I've never used it with normal grinding.
-Use it when tanking bosses in case you're about to die for some reason, and it helps the cleric get you back to full hp quickly, or when someone else dies.
It also factors out the speed reduction, as most bosses don't require you to run around.
-Use it in combination with roar or frighten, in case multiple mobs ambush your party, use roar immediately, then invoke to reduce all the damage. While your DDs and you pick them off.Belligero0 -
can be used when aoe grinding when sunder on cool down...
bestial rage with +6 mobs on you and invoke you get your 2 sparks back by the time you want to sunder again...
Just a thoughtb:shocked0 -
I find it useful at the beginning of a boss fight, especially if I am luring. It allows me to lure the boss with a low aggro skill such as the Zeal genie's Earthflame. Once I have lured and moved to the position in which we want to fight, I can cast invoke and have 20 seconds during which I can establish aggro without the cleric having to heal or purify and risk getting aggro.0

I use this on my barb as a situational thing. Mostly when I'm doing certain bosses where the cleric (usually a single cleric) has a difficult time keeping up with heals. Few examples -- Polearm, Fragrance, Jewels, Krimson, Kong, Cosmoforce, Wurlord. Not yet high enough to try Belial nor RB delta.0

For pve it gets used when the healer dies or stops healing for any reason or can't heal enough and your close to death... I recently used it against kong simply because our healer stopped healing(do not know why)and I lived until kong finally died... But only use it in extreme situations where your about to die if you dont.... Otherwise you absolutely kill your chi and you can't tank properly.
For pvp it has problems, most people know what the skill looks like and will run around in circles outside your range until it runs out.... So the only use I can think of is if your about to die in pvp and need time to let your charm tick.0 -
I have seen more and more barbs use invoke right when they start a boss.
This is usually when I play my archer.
I have always thought that this was a huge waste of chi just to save some heals, but I've been known to miss the obvious before.
Is there something I'm missing?
I never use it myself unless something goes wrong. (group pve wise)Internet connection -$50.00 a month

In PvE: If your Cleric dies, it gives you time to escape, or finish killing the boss.
In PvP: If someone triple sparks on you, or starts to channel something really big.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Some clerics will stack heals on you before you aggro a boss.
Others will wait until they see a flesh ream before they give a heal to avoid aggro.
Solution? Run in and contact-aggro the boss, invoke, ream... barbs build chi like mad, the only "waste" of chi is using Firestorm. b:chuckle
It depends on play style and experience I guess... I always hit bosses with Alacrity first, because 99.999% of them will start channeling a ranged attack as soon as you get within range. The clerics I party with in pve are all top notch though, so... ^^==Sanctuary's Last Demon Barbarian== ... (lol strife)

Boss wise I've only had to use it (sorry posting on my veno lol) when pulling Dimentora to the corner of the arena. Just because he can be finicky at times or else the clerics are twiddling their thumbs.I'm a man0

Couldn't have said it better LOL b:chuckle
But the two spark problem and keeping aggro, it can be a slight problem. But I've found myself using it more as a higher level (harder TT's, emergency situations, TW) and that's after I hit 89, when I got triple spark/sage chi (Gain 50 chi instantly, 1 minute cooldown)
With triple spark, Invoke is not a problem. You could have 4 sparks, so to say. Plenty of room to play around with.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Some bosses with a massive magic attack (drum, wurlurd, not sure about soulhunter but I think he hits pritty hard to), can take out a massive amount of hp from a a barb. While the barb is running at him, it's hard to cancel that attack (or harder to do it while you're fighting him). To avoid that single attack, some barbs invoke9 out of 10 voices in my head say I'm not crazy... the 10th is singing the music of tetris0 -

Invoke the Spirit (Turtling) is useful when rushing parts of TT or other instances. Aggro mobs then Turtle, hit bestial onslaught (to gain back chi,) your squad runs past and into safer area, you calmly walk towards them.
One thing to remember is to always be generating chi...Frighten is a good skill to generate it, Roar is good as well, so is Alacrity. In general, if I'm tanking I like to have all 3 sparks and a full bar. In case something happens I can spam FR or Devour or in a real emergency, I can Turtle up and Alpha Male the rest of the group to safety.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
