Complete computer freeze with nVidia

I am observing a complete computer freeze (only reset helps) which occurs only with PerfectWorld and Rappelz. With other apps/games PC runs perfectly fine for days.
I am 99.9% certain that the problem is between PW and nVidia drivers (I borrowed an ATI card and replaced my nVidia - freezes went away; at the same time other games never freeze with my nVidia). I tried all WHQL drivers from nVidia and also latest beta (dated ~20 Jan 2010) - it does not help.
Removing hardware acceleration, reducing resolution, changing Windows compatibility (aero, XPSP3, DPI) - doesn't help either. Possibly makes it more rare (maybe from twice an hour makes it once in ~3 hours).
Extensive testing of DirectX11 graphics with Unigine benchmark shows no problems - test runs for hours OK.
I wonder how common this problem might be - am I the only person with such a problem? I found several crash dumps and sent them to both PWI and nVidia.
PWI technical support could not help me so far which is not surprizing - it's not clear if a bug is in PW or in nVidia drivers! Only said my DXDIAG and HiJackThis logs have nothing odd.
Configuration: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Abit QuadGT motherboard, 4GB RAM (memtested), Intel 6600 @2.4GHz (not overclocked), nVidia 9800 GTX+, PSU with more than enough power, temperatures all fine.

is the 9800GTX+ an SLI or single card?I'm a guy, not a woman, that is all

It is a single card. GeForce 9800 GTX+, manufactured by Palit.0

I have an almost Identical system 'cept that I have the Intel G33B motherboard and a 9800GT. no issues here. I would recommend a complete uninstall of the game client, re-download the Vista/Win7 32/64-bit version and manually apply the patches.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

try the last 18x driver, see if it still crashes.I'm a guy, not a woman, that is all

I tried not just the latest WHQL (196.21) and beta drivers (last beta is 196.34 dated 22 Jan 2010) from nVidia but ALL previous nVidia drivers that they posted in 2009.
Also tried what nVidia sometimes recommends as "clean" driver install - there is a utility on Guru3d.com (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655) which wipes the drivers completely from the disk and registry.
None of these improved things. I can get a crash pretty reliably in less than 2-3 minutes if I turn on all the game features and spin the picture intensively.
What I found is that sometimes a crash dump does get created (maybe once in 4-5 freezes). I sent these to nVidia support but they keep asking silly questions if my computer is overheated and if I tried another video card (which I already told them!)
When I loaded the crash dumps into Windbg its diagnosis is "Probably caused by: nvlddmkm.sys (nvlddmkm+7df0c)" (for all the dumps). This is a crash address for 196.34 beta nVidia driver.0 -
That is one thing to check, the video card's manufacturer.
You may have to use Palit's drivers instead of directly from nVidia: http://www.palit.biz/main/download.php?pc_cate=vga&id=988
Please go to their home page to see if the region and language needs to be changed for you to find the correct info.
See if those help.Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

I checked - these Palit drivers for their GeForce 9800 GTX+ card, Windows7 64-bit are, in fact, the same as nVidia 191.07 for W7+64bit. I tried them already.0

181.20
186.18
191.07
195.62
196.21
196.34 (beta)0 -

Wow, your situation really bites. b:sad
If you have a spare video card, or integrated, anyway that you can switch over to the other one and see how it runs? Then maybe you'd at least have it narrowed down to your video card and not something else on the system.b:victoryDo you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

Download the latest 3dMark (its free) and run it. This will stress your card. If it crashes during the 3dmark benchmark then its the card but if it doesnt then its probably the game.
If it freezes during 3dMark it "may" be an overheating problem on the card.0 -
I also have Nividia Geforce 9800M GTS, my game freezes the exact same as you describe let me know if you have fixed this problem0

It'll be helpful to us if you tell us some of your computer's information.
1) What is the make and model number of your computer?
2) Please also tell us whether you are running a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows. You can find out in Windows by going here: Start > Control Panel > System & Maintenance > System. Then look under System > System Type. It will then display 32bit Operating System or 64bit Operating System. Include that info with the info we ask for below.
3) To create a dxdiag log, go to Start, click on Run, then type in dxdiag and press Enter. Click on Save All Information as a text file (on your Desktop as an example.
If you are using Vista or 7, go to the Start Menu, click on the Search menu and type dxdiag.exe.
4) Copy and paste the top half of your dxdiag into your forum post (that means 50% of the text). If you have Vista, please take out the (TM) (the trademark symbol) out of the text file, as the forums will cut it off and won't display the rest of the text.
If you have a 64bit system, please click on the 64bit Dxdiag/DirectX button to save the correct log file. This is important so that we can help you find the right software for your system.
We'll take a look at it, and offer our advice (our our super cool and helpful community might beat us to answering things for you).Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?
