Is it possible to lose old quests?

Had an arguement with a faction member. Does anyone know if it's possible to have quests disappear forever because your level is too far away from the quest level?

Generally, quests will disappear after certain levels above the quest if they are not taken/accepted. Quests will not dissappear (ie non-timed quests) if they are accepted.

Does anyone have any proof of it or is there a formula of when or how you lose quests?

Well, I have proof that some unaccepted quests disappear, as I never fought dismal shade and the quest is no longer available to me.

However, I also heard a rumor that "losing a quest" only applies to the challenge quests. I can't confirm this though as I'm still within 5 levels of my lowest white named quest and i did all the others.

Those are how long you have to finish the quest after you pick them up.

And, can you pick up a quest that you cannot finish? Its the same thing.

Example: as this occurred to a friend of mine. If you do not pick up your quests that give you the TABS for your FB you will not be able to get them once you hit the 10th lvl past that FB. The cultivation quest will still be there but not that one.

If you have collected quests you will still have them, if you have not collected quests I've noticed them vanishing around the 10+ lvl past when that quest was available.

Example: an alt of mine had the Swiftwind elemental essence quest...but I hadn't farmed them yet...I had to trash the quest for some reason but when I went back to pick it up it wasn't available.

Dismal Shade is a timed quest (you have 2 hours to complete it after picking it up) and an upper level limit of, I believe, 60 (my old faction leader was never able to complete Dismal because of this. She (at level I think 61) went to pick up the quest when someone else in faction was going after it, and found she couldn't.)

Other, untimed, quests you should be able to leave sitting in your quest log until you get around completing them, however, if you trash them to make room you may not be able to pick them up again.

    Eh, idk.

My alt is level 55 and has quests at level 43 she is still doing and none have disappeared. She has 46 quests between the ones she has picked up and the ones that are not.

She is a veno and she was not able to get the kite at like level 10 until she was level 30. Which goes past the 10 level mark by quite a bit...?

Did you pick up/accept the quest?

No, LloydAsplund is right, those are the levels required to begin the quest. You can begin the level 33 Crazy Stone quest, for example, at level 33 only, but you can complete it at higher levels.

So, yeah, if you didn't take the level 36-60 Music Note quest before level 61, then you will lose it. Looking at Lloyd's page you can see that most quests will not go away if you don't take them, but some will.

I'm not sure if there is some kind of formula but if you accept the quest it will never disappear unless you trash it.
When I was around lvl 25 i found a quest in my quest log that I got when I was lvl 9 so I trashed it.After that I went to find more quests and I saw the same quest I dumped a few minutes ago there. When I leveled up I went back to find quest and it was gone.So I think if you ever trash a quest you accepted and trash it,it will go into your find quest log until you level up .

    hoped it helped b:chuckle

Well... I'm a lvl 78 veno (obviously) and... I still have, par example, God of Cuisine. And more quests. It's true that some challenge quests eventually expire, but... most normal quests just... linger around in your "find quest" thingy.

NOTE: I didn't oracle all the way here. In fact, I only used 5 oracles in my whole veno-career, but... I just didn't feel like doing some, that's all. b:surrender
