LEVEL 2 SOUL OF SILENCE

Lasts for 180 seconds.

Soul of Mirror shares a 180 seconds cooldown time with Soul of Silence.

It actully adds to something which isn't range when you level it up!!! OMG!

Wait, so you have less than a 10% chance for this skill to activate, and it only works for a few seconds?

Not really worth leveling at all imo, not incredibly useful either. I seriously think this skill needs to be tweaked.

I agree, it seems there are many skills for psy that are less than useful.

I just want to see these things, (skills), take HP from the opponate, not all the bells and whistles that don't amount to much. Agreed, most of the Psy skills need tweeking.b:beg

Unfortunately, some of these skills allow the monster to come right up on you, all the while not causing damage, or even slowing it down, and that makes for a real tough fight to try and maneuvour around and reposition to continue to press an attack. A genuine concern with the low protection of Arcane gear. Of course, I have been playing around with different skills to see what works best in different situations, but I keep coming back to the three mainstays; Aqua Burst, Soul Blast, & Landslide, those three seem to be the most effective, for me anyway, but that can get redundant in a hurry.

Oh well, my toon is only lv. 48, I have a long way to go yet, so I'm sure things will change on down the road. I'll keep experimenting, and trying different tactics, it's part of what makes things fun for me, and keeps things interesting.b:victory

yea pretty much useless skill, and it would be a massive waste if you ever upgraded it for the 0.1 second you will never notice anyway.

i think it will be worth lvling, at lvl 100ish it would have a round a 10% chance to stun, and looking at the notes for up coming patchs you will be able to use both soul of vengence and soul of silence at the same time (thats how i read it, could just mean that you could change between the skills with out having to w8 for the 1st to end) even so, look at it like the human veno stun lucky scarub, yes it short, but its every useful, aside from it hitting hard it puts other players off, breaks a chain of moves they were about to try, helps give you time to let your charm cooldown

a 8-10% chance to silence for 3 seconds its well worth while and i think it will be the kinda skill that will save your life at times

Maybe. Lets hope they can be used at the same time though. I've also been saying they should have made Empowered Vigor longer and a party buff. I guess time will sort it all out

I'm hoping that demon/sage skills if/when we get them will do just this. Make our buffs available to more than one person at a time, make bubble of life bigger, etc.

b:surrender I'v been using it alot more recently (level 61 now) and have noticed its hitting the silence alot more often than it was when i was lower level. I could imagine this skill getting pretty sweet at 100.

At my current level with 10076 soulforce, Lvl 1 soul of silence has a 6.05% chance to cast and remain active for a lil over 2 seconds.
You decide if it's worth it. b:chuckle

im seeing this skill shine for me because i'm taking hits. I'm a vit build that solo aoe grinds 3 - 6 mobs at a time at lvl 64.. so with taking ranged magic dmg from a few mobs my chance increase greatly to get silence off.
I think its silly to write off this skill so quickly.. as well as alot of skills on the psychic i'm seeing getting written off.. there is a use for everything. I use every skill i have on my psy.

atm my psy is lvl 68 and all i can say is that soul of silence works better and better everytime i lvl up. Yesterday i even silenced the same mob 2 times, and that with killing it quickly.
So imo this skill worth it

edit: plus it does still work after a successfull hit and you can silence multiple target at the same time

Well, since you can now have Soul of Silence and Soul of Vengeance on at the same time, I look at it like this:

If you don't have Soul of Silence yet, there's no hurry to get it right away. It will make little to no difference at lower levels.

You MUST eventually get it however, because it is a requisite for Soul of Retribution. So by the time you're Transcendent, you should have Lv1 Soul of Silence.

If you have it, there is no reason to not use it. The mana drain isn't much because you only lose 100 mana IF the silence actually procs. And IF it procs, its worth the 100 mana. You'll never know when that random silence might save your life, no matter how low the success chance is for you. So if you do have the skill, keep it on. There's no reason not to. Because even if it never helps, it will never hurt either.

A successful silence doesn't end the effect, and just like the modification to SoV, it lasts even if you die. That helps make it useful, because while the odds may be low, its still nice to have the chance to get multiple silences.

As stated before, eventually when you reach high levels with highly refined gear, the success rate will slowly start to become something more formidable. Since it stacks with SoV now, might as well use it.

I do not know why you are having problems, but I'm gonna tll everyone tthis: Psychic can kite well too.

Sceanrio: I took some oracles to train my kiting skill on Archer, on Bloodlust Feligar. Archers need to always press a movement key to stop the next shot from firing if they were to kite.

Also the misses on knock-backs or stuns, makes kiting more difficult on the archer (despite having mistys; @lvl 75 - 79 range).

Psychic did the same mob, did kiting, @ a lower lvl (lvl 60) and did it with significant ease. Landslide always works, speed of cast. Therefore, kiting with Psychic I can say, is much easier for me at least.

At lower levels, we do not have any stuns, but come 59, you will have Earth vector (aoe stun) which can buy you time.

Repositioning is a matter of Aqua impact + spirit blast + black voodoo + landslide if they come too near.

Of course, there are more trickier range mobs that make kiting much harder. But with Earth Vector, I think it does make it slightly easier.
