In the old days u could get a random squad and do a good BH run, u had to be really unlucky to get a seriously squad wipe (maybe u got 1 person who almost screwed up a few times). Now u gotta be lucky to get a good randome squad. I always said, and this just confirm it, that gear charm lvl etc. doesn't matter if u can't play ur class -.-. Here is a little story to think about, and in a good squad this should not have een a problem.

On of our venos is on afk fair enough she had to go eat (and the one she was followring sadly lost her on a hill hmm =/)
We are on our way to last boss Glutt and many of u prolly know those annoying running-stone-throwing mobs that stand in groups of 3 and a few walkign around. Anyway someone in the squad manage to pull freaking 4-5mobs 3!!! times. Every single time i ended up with 2 mobs on my wolf and 1 mob throwing stones on myself (god bless 2nd wind, swarp, veno heal of mana and hp b:sad) All i could do was heal pet and myself, and hope nobody was stupied enough to pull agro off the 3 mobs i was holding (lucky this time often ppl start AoEing -.-) and somehow all 3 times cleric made it in time to heal me.
Now fail fail fail. They were impatient, with a tank like BM or Barb we could easy have taken on those mobs, but not in a pure mag squad some on T.T
It was really an awfull run, but if nothign else u learn to watch ur back, cuz unless with the right ppl others won't watch it for u.Dreamsweavers GhostDogz are looking for you to join the pack. We are still small but are growing into a fun, friendly and helpful fact. We value that our lower lvls also get the experience they need for their class, so we get some awsome ppl
. all we ask of u is to be okay active (not has to be on 7days a week, 1 is enough) and to bring ur good mood =3 cya ingame!

Most of the BHes i've been on are good, just now and then you encounter the idiots.
The only thing that really gets me is the old fashioned idiots who won't let anyone else but a barb tank the boss even though you've got the ability to do it because you've got an insane attack and critical rate which holds and steals aggro very well
You've also got a charm and two other clerics to heal you. But no, they insist on spending AGES shouting for a bloody barb. Then on the other hand you find a squad that will let you tank, the clerics only heal you with that wellspring skill because they've got this mentality that:
"The faster HP you recover the better". And even when you squad wipe they still don't listen to you when you try and explain that Ironheart will make everyone's life so much more easier. Then they accuse you of trying to tell them how to play their class and how they've got these other high level alts and it turns into an all out verbal brawl and people leave the squad.
I love shouting for FF runs then have people join and say "So what's ff? Is it drops?"

Remember when zhening was the way people "cheated" or "bought" levels? A well orginized squad, each doing their roles properly could get a lot of exp, and on top of that they where using an item which gave them +50% exp. Thats just insanity. Top that off with the fact you could get hundreds of thousands of exp by flying around for a while every day, or trade in gems and buy some daily exp. I miss those days... When quests mattered, and people were friendly, and the rivers ran red with the blood of our enemies. Back when enjoying the game meant something, and someone with a green weapon was someone to be respected, or feared. Now, quests are ignored, people are jerks, and the rivers are clogged with the bodies of those oneshot by the heavy cash-shoppers... Nobody enjoys the game anymore, and green weapons are like leaves on trees, and are everywhere... Why can't we have the good days back?0 -

The only way to ever get that back would be if another version of PW was to be made or at the very least another PWI server without having anni/coral packs , hyper exp and have bhs limited to 1 per day or make them available only at high lvls .

errr ooookay then quests have never mattered they have always been horrible objects disliked but still done. Why? cause you have to do them. You can still enjoy the game you are just not thinking. And now its not green weapons its those grey weapons think about its the same thing. People don't enjoy the game because everyone says there is nothing to enjoy. You can enjoy the game just as easily it doesn't matter fun is how you play. I personally welcome the influx of higher levels moreso with people leaving from things like the anni packs stupidly. Like hamsta said they will either leave or learn either way its a good thing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

This barb is a sec for me. I started playing with a EA, that i gave up at 82, about a week after harshlands server started. Back then, we didn't have the new ''find quests'' option. Just a pop-up that said XXX is looking for you, and the coordonates, wich btw you couldn't even copy. If we had to kill some mobs we had to find them by searching the zones described in the quest, no click and you're taken there.
We had no BH, no genie, no suply stash. I remember having to start grinding at lvl 42. Quests weren't enough to lvl. And EVERYONE was doing wq. Not like now...pff 1k, not worth it0 -

I remember those days. WQ was a pain in the **** to do that way. And yeah, it was the 40s you had to start grinding in... What a crappy set of levels to try to get through... You had to do Crazy Stone every day to make any headway against that... Man... BH didn't even come around until way through my 80s. Yeah... I've been stalled that long in my 80s. EXP dumping into the new genies just so I could actually use the damn things... This game has come a long way since it first started... Not all of it good, either. Anyone remember when they screwed up the Flying mounts? Made their animations move twice as fast? Best glitch ever, IMO. Didn't **** up gameplay, but was funny as hell. Those poor elves.0 -

Apparently less than 10% would play if PWI became P2P (I did a large poll ages back).
Personally I don't understand it. Eliminating the boutique for the cost of like $15 a month or w/e it is nowadays? I would go for that in a heartbeat.
First off I'd save a great deal. Even casual cash shopping can eat more than a P2P costs. Secondly, no charms, oracles, hyper, dragon orbs and all that other junk. I can guarantee that would balance things in a flash, as well as force players to become pretty skilled pretty fast. Would be extremely fun and a great challenge.0 -
You can talk about the "old days" as much as you want but it doesn't change the facts now.
Since i started my sin, i had the new TB quests that gave an immense amount of exp, got the new BH system (3x exp /day) and did cs.
As it stands now, i have about 50+ quests to do, and i don't even have time to do them all before i lvl. Then next lvl gives me more quests again....and again...and again.
I have to face the fact that i probably will lose some quests or have to do them when i'm 8 / 9 lvls higher and have the time to do them.
Although putting exp into a genie might be an option, i'm not doing cs/bh/quests just to lvl up a genie. If i didn't put some exp into my genie today, i would have lvl'd 2x already. (65 sin)
If i were able to play 8+hrs /day, i would have been lvl 85+ already. And there is really no need for oracles.
Look at all the exp you get :
-new bh system
-cs
-wq (for the right lvls)
-double exp event
-Hyper exp stones
-regular quests that keep building up...
On a pve server it doesn't really matter unless you TW, but on a pvp server you will get loads of "noobies" that can't even play their chars decent enuf.
And then i'm not even talking about getting the mats for your gear...0 -
Oracles = Money cost = you have to be pretty rich to begin with to mass oracle.
So they had to get the money from somewhere, thus they know how to play or they spent $20,000 in the game.(Not naming names *Cough Wizzeled Cough*)Say my name 3 times, I dare you.

There are a few challenging MMOS out there that takes a while to master, Perfect World is NOT one of them.
Here you can oracle to 90 and learn the basic of your class in about 1-2 days and do well. Enough to act correctly and dont **** up in easier instances and most pve situations. Pvp is a another thing tho obviously.
I wouldn't not blame the oracles for ppl being nub and not knowing what to do in BH/Frost and such lol. Some people are just terrible in general at videogames, and im pretty sure they're terrible at other stuff to where you have to learn and listen. Its the same ppl that stands next to you and spams "halp plZZ" in white chat for 3 hours when you're afk.
I guess these nubs might still be lvl 50 if the BHs/Hyper exp and oracles where never introduced. But for anyone thats even remotely experienced at playing a videogame, you can oracle to 90 and play your class well after some basic research.0 -

Yes dude i totaly agree with you. They have taken out the grinding element, and it's waaaay better ane easier to lvl (lvl-ed my barb to 50 in 3 days). But in the ''old days'' when walking around in arch and if you happen to see someone with wheel of denied fate you were like ''OMG he is so overpowered''. Nowdays, hey look, rank 8 wep, uuuu lunar, uuuu FC. There were 2-3 people on the ''elder'' servers that had FC wep and they busted they asses 2 to 3 months for them.
Gold price at AH was less than 2k. Cash shopers had better fashion and better flying mounts, maybe land mounts
I agree, the game moves on. But look at what cost. Now a non cash shoper has no way to keep up. And end game the same, a cash shoper will rule.
The anny pack kinda destroyed the game, but thinking about it it helps others to. The hyper exp **** is way to much. Oracles work but only just, over 8x not really practical. In my opinion exp should be the 1 thing that should be PRICELESS0 -

The problem is not so much the oracle part as the noob thing...
I've met many oraclers and (surprise!) most of them are decent enough people to admit they're not experts. People with the common sense to not stand in your way, that right off the bat tell you they may not be able to handle their class job, and that are willing to listen and open to advice. I don't mind them, in fact they can be very fun to have around sometimes.
Doesn't mean i approve of oracles but i'll respect a player that knows a squad's common goal is the priority. And all this takes is minimum common sense and maturity.
Now, noobs on the other hand won't listen, will endanger the squad showing off and generally cause party wipes. I've known people that never touched an oracle that were noobish like that. What fast leveling does is allow these people to not only entirely throw the learning curve out the window, but to skip the process that would at least show them some basic humility and skills for teamwork. A couple of weeks won't teach them that. They'll remain noobs for months and access to CS may only make matters worse.
In my experience even time won't change their basics. Noob is always noob.0 -

Here are my 2 cents on this subject, if I am wrong, please do correct me:
Most oracle using people just want to get to end game, and that is something we all basicly agree on.
But in my opinion, this game is centred around high levels, meaning 90+, then they can get their "end game gear" and actually TW.
Low levels isn't something liked any more, a low level who tries to quest gets pked by rpkers, and sometimes those rpkers camp these sites, i'm just talking about PvP servers though, not PvE.
Though now with the hyper exp stones, 3 BH system, CS, WQ exist, oracles are not the new big thing any more.
Besides, FF and HH, experience in those comes from actually doing it, so you can't really blame oracles or hyper exp stones for that.
Sometimes there are oracle users that are alts to high leveled players.
Sometimes someone from a PvE server rerolls in a PvP server and the opposite.
Like someone stated, noobs are noobs be it they oracle or grind for eternity.
People who oracle are different, some good, some bad, you would be amazed how many oracle users are really good, not decent, but good at playing their class.

Oracle or not...it's not going to matter soon.
That's why it's always an good idea not to hit the mobs being tanked by someone (with dubious tanking ability) usually coupled with trigger happy DD (in case of oracle noobs).
If the tanker does lose aggro, grab your popcorns and watch the panic DD running around with cleric trying to heal.
But let me assure you that 99 %, the squad gets wiped and you are left there alone. b:victory Providing that you have not hit the mob too. b:chuckle0 -

i think cash shop, oracles and whatnot are good. They provide pwi with money. pwi provides us w a free, beautiful game to cure boredom
