Love my Psychic so far - but...

Wow does she blow through mana. I was having HP problems as well, but since I got Landslide that doesn't seem to be an issue as I can kill most mobs before they get to me.
Honestly, right now the leveling is so fast with quests that it doesn't cause a huge problem. By the time I run between all of the quests, I'm usually leveled and have all my mana back, but I can see this being very annoying when the quests dry up and I have to grind.
How do the higher level psychics do it? Do you just have to spend insane amounts of money on mana pots and chug them like gatorade?

more Mag = faster mana regen. During the early levels you have very little mana, with high(ish) mana cost skills. As you level, your mana regen increases as does your mana pool, while the skill cost stays the same (besides demon/sage skills)0

I agree with the previous post, but also lots of Focus Powder, Jade Powder and Pots... Yes, my Psy takes em like gatorade...0
-
You'll still eat through your mp even with 10% mp recovery from spark+. You're only choice is to get as strong as possible so the mobs die asap (if you don't like being a pot head).
Past 40, grinding isn't even an issue. Just go do bh.0 -
Yes pyschics use up mana like an suv chugs up gas. Spirit charms won't last very long hence I stopped using them.
If you want to get through those grinding quests quickly, then prepare to spend a good amount on potions. Also, If you plan on doing the PQ at lvl 60, youre looking at spending a few million coins in mana usage. I used to pq around 5x a day between lvl 60-70 and saw my coins wittle down to almost nothing.
The good news is that once you hit lvl 75 you can start using those pots that heal for 5000 mp, which greatly saves you coins in the long run.0 -
Hate to sound like a noob here (I am) but the acronyms PQ and BH are foreign to me. Anyone mind explaining?0

PQ - Public Quest - You get a quest that you do with everyone in the area who took the quest with you. First you kill 200 little mobs (everyone shares the same count so if you kill one, and someone else kills one, you get 2) then you kill 50 elites, same counter again. Then 2 bosses, again same counter.
BH - Bounty Hunter - You take 3 of these a day, get a group, jump in a fb lower lvl than you, until you get higher lvls then you do TT, RB, things like that. You kill one of the bosses in the fb and turn in the BH.
These both give exp and sp.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

This.
Once you hit lvl 30 you can start making focus powders at the apothecary with regenerate 100 mana every second while meditating. That should greatly reduce the amount of pots you need. Jade powders are good for a quick MP boost as well.0 -
i dont know if they eat more mana then mage do but they are
i used to play venomancer so i cant really compare, playing my psy i eat lv 70 potions every 5-6 mobs.... it alot, of course if u can take your hand on lv75 event potions it cheapergenesis (r.i.p.) ===> conqueror (r.i.p.) ===> zen (r.i.p.) ===> iam (r.i.p.) ===> guardianz (r.i.p.) ===> spectral ===> essence
starting to be a nice guild hoppers b:surrender

Side note, Warhammer basically ripped that PQ idea off completely from PW, assuming this game was out first. Thanks for the info0 -
I doubt Warhammer ripped that idea since we have Pq in PW less than 1 month old.
As for the mana problem, killing mobs will stop beeing a problem since you'll kill mobs really fast and you'll have a decent mana pool and basic mana reg.Real problem comes at bosses and instances, pots are pretty much useless so raise your apotecary skill and craft both mana reg powders and the 6k-9k mana restore one later.0 -
I have noticed that my psychic eats mana fast when killing mobs in quick succession, which means that I need mp pots to continue without meditating. Unfortunately, he can chug them down pretty quickly, and I've been thinking o f ways to deal with it. Focus powders are good for any mana-burning class; I love them. b:chuckle
One solution I've come up with for the mp pot problem this: At lvl 30 or so everyone gets 100 hp and mp pots from the supply stash. Since my veno burns pots at the speed of a snail compared to him and my cleric, I'm thinking of sending them to my psychic. This will save money on pots and giving him a boost until his mana regen improves.Syredrae ~ lvl 100 Cleric (main character)
Auryl ~ lvl 100 Venomancer
Mainas ~ lvl 80 Barbarian
Suirune ~ lvl 2X Psychic0 -
One other thing, get gear with +MP Recovery bonuses. My psychic has about +12 MP Recovery from her gear, and she just hit level 41. She still guzzles MP, but it comes back a lot faster now.0

Sorry but i have to disagree here. Get gear with phys def. and vit because those are psychics weak points. Your mp regen is usless if your dead.0 -

lol i totaly agree i mean my psychics is only lvl 17 but i plan on lvling him up but it may take awile (are psychic good at grinding?)0 -
Well psychics are good at killing things fast one at a time. So I'd be killing mobs while double exp is still in effect b:victory0

For general grinding psychic never gets hit. That's why mp regen is preferred, you save potions which means you spend less money on potions. Those stats have their uses, but for general solo grinding they're useless.0 -
Gotta love when someone asks other forum users to clarify some acronyms and people reply with a post containing the answers to the original ones... but then throw in 4-5 new ones =P
EDIT: Typo0 -

(This is Lumiinos)
your right about the grinding but at low lvls grinding isn't really necessary. The grindfest only really starts at higher lvls and by then your Mana pool and mag regen should be big enough that it won't matter and you will also have access to the lvl 75 mp food (Saved my cleric so much cash on charms!!!) Im not saying its not useful to have mp regen on gear but I won't take it over reduce pysh dmg, phys def+, or vit. My psych is a pure mag build and Im able to go through multiple mobs before running out of mana. And as was said before apothocary is the key it will save you lots of cash on potions.0
