Question about MP

Well, as you can see from my avatar, I have a lvl 56 psychic now (my first char here) and I have thought about making a cleric too. I've checked this forum and heard opinions from friends about the mp pot cost and found out its true that clerics eat mp pots like crazy. My friend (a lvl 60ish cleric) is buying gold to afford his mp pots and skills, which makes me feel like there are no real options for clerics to make money. Also my friend said that he consumes so much mana that he can't farm items from mobs to get money without loosing it all to the potions.

As I am not gold buyer myself and I really would like to play as a cleric, I have two questions for you.

1) Is the mp potion consume really that high that you consume like 1m for them a day? (lvl 50+)

2) Are there really no options for clerics to farm money ingame without buying gold? If there are will this take more time than using the pots that you bought with the money you farmed? :P

Thanks for answeing in advance :)

me hope your cleric friend doesn't buy charms since those don't really give good mp per coin(s)
what he wants probably be mp pots or something.
    X_x'

also at level 75 you can use herb yuanxiaos (restores 5k mp)
only cost like 900 coins - 1400 coins or so each.

and me suppose your friend can get in on frost runs and sell mats.

Your friend must not be very efficient in mana usage. When I grind, I don't pot at all, just meditate. When I'm in an instance, I don't spam heals unless the tank NEEDS it, and I stay out of combat mode so my MP recovery isn't cut.

Plus, there are always MP powders. b:chuckle

Mm, my friend uses pots, not charms. But thanks for the info ^^ Thats just what I do on my psy - meditate when I run out pots which I get from mobs. Maybe the pot consume is not that great as I was told :)

I think your friend is too impatient to rely on meditation for mp regen, or is not playing smart enough. I dont buy MP pots cause the ones I pickup from mobs are enought for me.

Clerics have the buff that increases MP regenen making meditation faster and a more economic source of MP. Also apothecary items such focus powder and jade powder are far more cheap cause they can be done using the herbs picked up for free and gives you more overall MP than pots.
    1) Is the mp potion consume really that high that you consume like 1m for them a day? (lvl 50+)

It is because all attacks uses MP. But as a I said before, the MP regen buff combined with meditation and apothecary items will drop your coin usage on MP down to zero.
    2) Are there really no options for clerics to farm money ingame without buying gold? If there are will this take more time than using the pots that you bought with the money you farmed? :P

You can make money as any other class: grinding mobs and sell the drops, just don't spend it all on MP pots. Meditating will take more time than an MP pot but is free. and since you need to use coins on the MP buff, it'll give you more MP per coin than a pot, and apothecary items can be done for free (unless you buy the herbs), making you spend even less coins.

    Meditaition and apoth FTW b:victory
