Why do so many of the gamers have so little respect for other players?

World Chat is just embarrassing to read sometimes.
And if you bother to read Common Chat, that's even worse.

What do I mean by respect?
Well, normal courtesy amongst fellow gamers! Simple as that!
Stops cursing or call each other stupid names, it's just pathetic.
Not that I am sensitive or anything like that...but if your goal is to taunt other players...use a little more refined language. Most often its' "Yo mamma" trash talk. And why all this comparison of who can be 1-shotted or not? Personally, I don't care, but why is that so important to you?

And one other thing. This char is an alt of mine, my main is higher level. But when squadding with others just a few levels higher than this one, they act like they know everything. Why? Advices are always good, but not given in a listen-to-me-now-noobie-kinda way. This is a game, not a contest... Or is it?

Show some respect, please...everyone deserve that!

    people on wc gets really annoying sometimes,so as normal chat with constant spam but u got option to turn it off.usually i have all chats enabled to show,but when ppl gets really annoying i turn them all off and just keep faction or squad chat on..thats all u can do,doubt this thread will change the way how people talk

    Well, the purpose of this thread was just to point out that I am not impressed by ppl's language (when mainly World Chatting) about others "failure" as players.
    Use just a few seconds first before taunting, and create a richer language in WC
    Not that cheap, childish way of smearing...

    And I know, I can turn of the chat windows...to sad I am forced to do that though.

    From the internet, I started believing in the dichotomy of human life. The obnoxious, insulting, and untrustworthy people seem a lot more open about who they are than they would be irl. So it is pretty interesting on a psychological perspective. But there are still good people around-- they're usually a bit quieter in this community, but imo if they can manage to retain their virtues + dignity in an environment such as this, they're definitely worth my respect. b:victory

    Since I'm factionless I rely on it pretty heavily for finding frost and tt runs. I also scanned it constantly for tt90 parts when making my tt90 set and picked up amazing deals on 2 pieces. In short, world chat has a lot of uses if you cut the spam, and it really is a shame to have to turn it off. b:surrender

    If you dont like what someone is sayin in WC, just blacklist em. Its what i do when i dont want to listen to the current pissing contest thats going on in WC.

    I can sum it up fairly easily.

    Average age of the PWI Playerbase: 13-18

    Add the assurance that nobody can find you and kick your **** through a roof for being a jerk means you have a bunch of pre-pubescent little animals thinking they are cool and knowing they are safe from having their faces stomped into the ground, so they can say whatever they want.

In a game however nobody knows who you are, worst punishment you'll get is getting banned. An online community is an escape from morals and ....     Hey, the knowledge that people are pathetic doesn't mean I have to accept it and say "oh well..." - that's not the way of good man.

    I had many opportunities to met ppl higher lvl than me, and they always act like gods. Or try to teach me how to play my class. Or do just stupid stuff, like archer (5k hp, lvl 89) who think that he can rush through 2-2 and take all those hits... Or FC squads, who laugh at me when I join them, because how's that possible that lvl 80 know how to run it?
    Truth is, we're all prideful idiots, we're no better than others - but we can do our best to try.

    By the way, don't forget that MMORPG is always a double game. Being anonimous is the other game. But it fails, since we're all 40+ years old male, bald, bearded virgins with huge glasses living in our parents basement, so... There's no humans on the internet^^ And that whole trash talk... only shows what we really are. Hope I didn't spoiled your self-esteem.

    But also on the flip-side of this there is no cure for stupid. So making the thread was asking for idiots to flame and call you a carebear or something along those lines because they don't understand the meaning of the word "respect"...

    Well.. like was stated previously, the majority of the player base is young, haven't been properly taught...

    And stupid.

    I just turn WC off and party with friends only and make more friends through the friends I already have that aren't total idiots.

    Because... well, internet = anonymity. You don't know anyone, no one knows you, you're free to do whatever you want - you won't suffer the consequences, your avatar will. I bet that's it's a common mindset.

    Then again there's jerks IRL, there has to be online. Just that online they can hide behind their screen. Because I know some would definitely get punched for saying some stuff.

    I've never really been for censorship, if anything I'm the one who's eventually gonna start a petition to have an option to turn off censorship... and yet, I don't like when people WC some **** out there. It gets outta hand way too fast. My faction has unrated chat and even though we get bad, we'd never pull that stuff in WC. Guessing there's a time and place for everything.

    Then again, some people have zero common sense...
