That was common in asian mmo, kill y monster for x number.
But i found pw give player many choice than just mindless killing same mob to get exp.
There fb, bh, oracle, etc and exp from quest was reasonable here than some other mmo i know . . . b:cry
Later if you join tw or pvp you will found it fun, but you need to use cash shop sometimes to make your way to there not take forever.
And if you not heavy cser good gear need a long time to make . . . b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Sorry i speak engrish b:chuckle
Nickname doesn't have anything to do with sailor but related to a folklore
Use search, it was your best friends to avoid many suffering in internet...0 -
yeah, it's that continued monotony that has kept some of us here for over a year.. lol
try playing it for awhile and see before you just assume things[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
We could all learn a lot from crayons, some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names (like chartreuse), and all are different colors....BUT they ALL exist very nicely in the same box!0 -

There are very few things in game that are anything other than "kill x" and fedex quests.
They are there though - snake island race, and cube of fate, for starters.0 -

how long do you play daily, weekly, monthly ?
2x's is a lot of questing. but can be done real quickly ( some hours)
When you ll reach 30, you ll have a daily quest "crazy stones" wich will give you a faitr amount of XP ecvery day, for a few coins
at 40 you ll get BH, once again a fair amount of XP for a few moment of your time, and sometimes money
BH was introduced some month ago , prior it was a lot more tedious to do your levels.
(You get another daily @70, and another one @90)
- and there is the events (snake race) that take place regularlyI look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.
Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.0 -

So.. is that supposed to be.. fun?Reivi - Sanctuary wrote: »how long do you play daily, weekly, monthly ?
I played like a year ago for a little bit, and tried it out again the last few days.
Maybe it would be better if intermediate weapons/armor dropped from enemies, instead of waiting to be able to use new armor/weapons every 10 levels or so. I feel like I keep waiting for this game to be fun, but it's not going to happen.0 -
sounds liek you dont like the pve side of the game. One of the main reasons i stopped playing on a PvE server was because of this. Perhaps roll to Harshlands/Lost City for a more exciting experience.
Other than that i dunno.. i was bored out of my mind on a PvE server.0 -

maybe you should bother to get to lvl 40 or stop playing mmos all together
since any mmo is like this sure p2p ones are ussaly not that bad with grinding and all but you will always have the kill xx mobs for xx quest and for armor drops they do drop but rare maybe you should just buy the gear or make it yourself
it seems your are not fit for mmos better to stop playing now and go play on your ps3 and never play this game (genre) againits impossible to always do the right thing we all make mistakes i am not different from that
just try to be a good person

not to sound rude, but this mmo seriously lacks content compared to other mmo's ive played. I see where the OP is coming from. This game seems to have focused on graphics & eye candy vs content.0 -

you dislike it so much, yet you're level 93.. how does that work?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

cant seem to find a better game atm + i have hope that pwi will change back to its original values.
Atm im just playing because its part of a daily routine that i cant seem to break.
edit # 11 or so: plus i was already past the point of no return when pwi decided to cherish their wallets over our happiness (around level 70-80ish)0 -
So bob
More content for low levels? more intermediate stuffs?
Should you compare PW with other "commercial" games
Other have a cap level at 50- 70 , 20 first level are the discovery of the game, PW has 105 levels ( 100 is a good point to reach ) and the 40 first levels are the discovery of the game. Other games lack in easyness in leveling quickly past lv 20/30 to the end.. PW has chosen to Facilitate exp gain after lv 40 (I Dont call Power leveling an aid to leveling)
the content is the same wathever game you play, background more or less defined, and changed with each new addition.(or in complete contradiction)
What others have, that may lack to PW is the mass PVP in controled areas (I Dont call TW mass pvp in controled areas, its more like a Team V Team or pick the flag)I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

Id like minigames in this game to be honest. Or simply just open the damn arena would be a wonderful start x-x
Have quests a little more interactive with the player, including cutscenes perhaps, to better follow the story.
The only thing i see worth doing in Pwi is the PvP side. Everything else gets repetitive. (id personally love a capture the flag minigame)0 -
While we're drawing on comparisons here (artfully done without naming them) I have played quite a few MMOs. In the end, the majority of them boil down to killing X number of Y monster. One game in particular has a squad pick a spot for the majority of their gametime and wail on a SINGLE monster til it dies and reliquishes its XP. A far cry from PWI's multikill scenarios.
Crafting in particular is one aspect which pretty much sold me to PWI. There is a lot of variation in the system because you really don't know what you're going to get. There are some insanely strong armors to be gained through crafting if you get the right bonuses, and the truly dedicated can end up with armor which is highly customised to their jobs (such as high pdef on wizards robes).
I will admit that PWI's lack of cutscenes for storyarcs is a bit of a downside, but having played through an unmentionable MMO (stupid rules) where players often skipped or mashed through cutscenes as quickly as they could anyway, its not really much of a loss. It wasn't that they didn't like the scenes, just that battle timers often started DURING these scenes, and players needed all the time they could get for the upcoming boss fight. Still, at least they were replayable thanks to a helpful goblin...
Yes, PWI gets repetetive. But then, so does every other MMO. I've always enjoyed games like this for the players more than the setting, and as long as it continues to have some great players to join in the fun, I'll remain.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I played other MMO's like Guild Wars and I found the experience to be very different, so I would not group Perfect World with mmos. I did not mean for you to take offense to my post.0
