HELP! I just downloaded PWI but...

when i click on the icon on my desk top, the little start-up window comes up right? but ontop of the menu (update, manual, verify, settings ect..) it says: "client running. Unable to proceed with update."
umm.. what do i do?! b:shocked

    restart your computer.
    or if you has a bit of tech competence.
    control + alt + delete = task manager
    find elementclient.exe & pwprotector then shut those processes off.

    if not then just restart your computer and it will be fine.

    ok, it worked, but when i close the game window and try to re-open it again, the same thing happens... does that mean i have to reboot my comp everytime i decide to play pwi??!

    nope
    press control + alt + delete
    bring up task manager
    find elementclient.exe
    and pwprotector.exe
    and close those two processes

    that'll fix it.

    Did you quit using the X in the top right?
    If yes, the game gets minimized in the right lower corner as a pictogram.
    Re-open it and close it the correct way, using the log off option ingame.

    If no, follow Hamsta's advice.

    The "Client Running/Unable to Update" message appears when you attempt to launch or patch the game while it is already running. First, check the system tray to see if the has been minimized there. This is usually a result of trying to close the game via alt+F4 or the X in the corner of the window; the only way to properly exit the game is to do so from the in-game menu. If the game has not been minimized, go to the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and end any instances you see of patcher.exe, launcher.exe, elementclient.exe, and pwprotector.exe, then try again. If all else fails, reboot your computer.
