"cannot start game" message

Let the client autoupdate, closed it down, restarted, hit start button and got messar "could not launch game". Client version is up to date. Restarted computer....same message. Turned off my antivirus, still no dice. Any ideas?

    This again?? This is the second time in a row. I can see maybe skipping in-game bugs for the sake of getting new content out and making more money, but this not being able to connect stuff is truly ridiculous and people are going to tire of it quickly if they have to re-download the game after every update..

    That being said I tried everything myself as well (aside from re-downloading the game for 10 hours...) and nothing has worked yet..

    Currently verifying. But it didn't work last time which is why I won't hold much hope for it. Still I guess it could do the trick this time. I shall post whether it helped or not. I dread another 10 hour re-download. b:shocked

    Well after hours of verification nothing happened and I still cannot launch the game. b:angry

    yup, i'm having the same issue. this morning when i started up the launcher it automatically started this update, and after it was done the launcher told me "can not launch game."

    this is the second time it happend to me. the first time is when i first did the update for the rising tide expansion. i actually ended up uninstalling the game and then downloaded the new client and re-installed it

    really what are we supposed to do? re-install the game? so far i've tried re-starting my computer and took a whole half a day to verify everything and still the same message

    do i really need to re-install the game? and if i do have to how can i save presets for my custom characters? i really dont want to lose those again

    I'm having this same issue, which is pretty disappointing since I'm new and have never run into this before. If this has happened in the past then it might do well to take care of this issue before all else or risk losing customers.

    EDIT: Ok this is just bs. I just reinstalled the game and I'm still getting the "can not launch game" message. Will someone please fix this? I want to play as a psychic! Dx<

    Im having the same problem but i've reinstalled the game about 3 times already and im on the verge of freakin quiting its so annoying. Almost every update i either get "cannot launch" or Mal! i spend 3 days out of the week trying to get it to work b:cry

    but the home page has everything but create a toon or play start button what is up with this?where do i go to start a charicter?

    where is the quick play button i dont care about glaases or hair do for a toon not yet at least

    wow if you guys arelready reinstalled the game and it hasnt worked, then i dont think i'll try that again.

    it worked before but that was from jumping from the ages of sages to the rising tide expansion

    i'm just going to sumbit a ticket

    if i come up with anything that works then i'll be sure to let you all know

    i hope we can get to the bottom of this fast because come monday we should be getting that 2 weeks of 2x xp and drops (since the facebook page hit over the goal of 50,000 fans)

    alright guys i figured this out

    my virus detector deleted quarantined 2 viruses
    1. Mal/Behav-024
    2. Mal/Behav-2 (or somthing like that i dont really remember)

    shutting off the virus detector did not remedy this
    I actually had to restore both of them and now the game works fine

    i'm sure we can expect this with each update, the virus dectector will sense these and quarantine them and all we have to do is restore them

    i know it cant be a malicious virus, the virus detector was saying somthing about how its used to alter documents and applications, well i could definately see how a game like perfect world would use a program like that. like maybe saving our progress? customized characters? installing updates?and ect ect

    so just take a look at your virus software and if you see it caught these then just restore them (i use webroot so when you pull the program up it actually has a tab for quarantied items, you just select them and click restore) of course i'm not familiar with any other type of virus detectors so i couldnt tell you how to do it if its not webroot
