auction house vs shop

Do people on this server use the auction house? I am fairly new to the game, coming from other games where the AH was like the only way to sell anything. I know there are consignment shops all over the place, but sometimes, like to find gear, I look at the AH, and its like nothing is posted up there....

So i did a search for wind widgets, an item I would think would be up there and found nothing...am i just using the AH wrong or do people not use it very often?

    People use AH a lot, but I'm guessing that Wind Widgets aren't something a lot of people would be selling at the moment. I suggest trying WC for them.

    Gear wise, I'd use AH.

    Anything related to cash shop and event gear, your best bet would be around the teleporter around West District in Arch.

    The search function in the AH does not actually search for item names. It searches for auction ID's (those numbers you see beside each auction).

    Like others have said previously, what people sell in the AH depend on the day and time really. For instance, I know that most clothes are sold early to late morning in the AH.

    Don't use the search box because that only searches for the ID numbers of AH items. You can get bored of it sometime, but you have to find the item you want by clicking on all the options. For clothes you have to go to the Dyes section, Womens Tops and then find the top you want and check if its there.

    It takes time to get used to the game and so does the in-game market. If you ever have a question if something is a rip off or not, ask other people before you bid or buy something. Thats my best tip to you, since when I first started out I was ripped off... Anyways, good luck! b:chuckleb:laugh

    Be careful with AH and scamming catshops.

    I had did a big mistake when I was on HT.

    i wanted to sell one silver order for 250K and unfortunately put all 11 silver orders for 250K and I loose them. cause someone bought them instantly.

    Market is good as well as bad. whether u buying from catshops or AH. its best way to browse them in your free time and get experienced it. my favorite timepass when I am not doing anything is watching AH and catshops in west arch. I have seen some catshops scamming ppls too.. but its rare case. dont go and buy because its selling very cheap. make sure person is selling same Item which you want to buy.
