Cool, now I can pay five gold for hair!

Hey, how sweet is this? The Tideborn character models came out with a lot of sweet new hair. But were there any new hair updates for other classes? A few. One of them was a bug. Or maybe two. People's hair changed without them knowing.

Luckily, we now have these awesome new items in the boutique that are basically wigs! "Hair items" for girls equates to a little barette here or there, which is basically what most of our hairstyles in the customization section have anyway. Why exactly are we being forced to pay five gold for these? Why are they not just in the character customization? Put them in with the rest of the hair choices, have a makeover scroll sale, and make just as much money. What a joke.

    What a joke.

    If only it were.

It's apparent that they are willing to degrade themselves to the point of making everything up for sale. It really is sickening.

If we're lucky soon we'll be able to buy new eye colours or breast implants or something. Maybe they'll just take out makeover scrolls all together and we can just cash shop our way to a new look! b:thanks

I haven't tried cause i won't buy it but since it's "fashion" it's logical not to be able with fashion turned off.
Maybe someone who have one could confirm.

To be able to wear hats outside of fashion, we'll have an upgrade feature! Coming soon, in a patch* near you.

Now in the Boutique, the Fashion Anytime stone, allowing you to use certain pieces of fashion over your armour, only 18 gold!

(Though I guess a bikini over my TT90 armour would be sort of sexy.)

I was actually really looking forward to fashion headgear, and am pleased that they finally came out. Kudos, devs.

    Now for the complaints... ;)
    • Price is too high. 5 gold is more than what a lot of full-body outfits cost. I was expecting them to be closer to 2 gold, same price as gloves or footwear (which cover a similar portion of the body).
    • Female headgear is rather unimpressive. Males get hats and sunglasses, while females get... little bitty hair ornaments? At least give us a couple of hats or something...
    • Headgear overwrites default hairstyle. Yeah, I understand the technical limitations behind applying a hat or ornament to your default hair, given the huge number of hairstyles out there, and that it's just easier to make the fashion change your hairstyle as well. Unfortunately, I'm awfully fond of my hair, so I probably won't be buying any head fashion like I was planning to.

On the positive side, the changes to fashion preview gives me something new to play with while doing my World Quest ;)

Seems amazing but it seems like quite a few of you still don't "get it"...

    * If you had a hairstyle that was replaced, that was not by accident

    * If you think its a coincidence that at the same time ppl lost their hairstyles there was a new "head" slot in wardrobe... think again

    * Has anyone ever gotten their curly hair replaced by placing a ticket? (your getting warmer)

    * They took away the curly styles we paid for with our makeover scrolls, gave us styles we wouldn't want so we'd buy another scroll in the meantime while they planned on rolling out new hair we have to pay for... so essentially... a lot of you end up paying for decent hairstyle THREE times. (BINGO)

I realized it immediately because this is similar to what EA games did to the Sim's Online players with hairstyles. However the decent thing is to announce to players the change is coming. I guess PWI isn't concerned with public relations.

Would be nice if they allowed us to use the graphics of our past armor in lieu of the graphics of more recent armor. I liked how proud plate of corsair looked with TT90 green leggings, but not the stupid huge horn thingies from changing chest armor to TT 90 green chest. Maybe if they had a clothing option to buy armor pieces that are dyeable, and unable to have the normal coloration of the regular armor? Or something else to differentiate it so it isn't too easy to fool people with.

    you mean bald.

i love how this is their solution for lack of new hair customization for other classes. remember when Surtr was saying you could get TB hair as long as you just move the ini files? then Spoons later said you couldn't? at that point i guessed that they were going to start selling new hairstyles instead.

So is the Game, F2P or P2P now, seems like it's a P2P game now. For those that are major cash shoppers, Logic really needs to settle in: If the game goes down, where will your things go that you wasted so much on?

BarbHammer; Nothing in the game is their's (or yours) in the first place. Basically, they're renting it. And also, it's not if the game goes down, it's when, because the game WILL end, at some point.

I understand people having disposable incomes, but it's ridiculous to think about all that money being used on something that WILL be gone within a few years, and you don't get nothing from it but an experience. Maybe for some people that's enough, but I personally feel that if I spent so much money on the game, I would want something tangible.

PS: this isn't in retaliation to your post, more like just adding my $0.02. :P

Yes, because everytime I watch a movie in the movie theater, I make sure to steal a chair so I have something other than memories for the money I spent :)

8-10 bucks for 90-120 minutes of entertainment. That's one of the things that makes it hard for me to really give **** to people who are spending money on the game, keeping it going for me. And since I've been playing since Sanctuary opened, I've got a good amount of time even with 4 months off. Great, now I feel bad about going to the movies. Thanks for ruining that for me.

Well, I'm just like that myself. It's just hard to realize (for me at least) that although you're being entertained, you don't have any tangible proof that you even experienced this game, after it's gone. That's just why I have such a hard time with the heavy CSer's, because I can't see myself in the same position.

But like I said in an earlier post, all things in moderation, and yes, even games. Especially when the only money sink they're employing is towards RL, where you give up your money to them.

All in all, I'm enjoying the experience I'm getting. I've put up to probably 50 dollars on the game, and have enjoyed what I've received.

    All things in moderation.

That's just why I have such a hard time with the heavy CSer's, because I can't see myself in the same position.

That was my point though. Movies, roller skating, camping trips, vacations, etc. all are things that by themself do not give you a material thing for your money you spent on them. While you can buy things as a memento, these things by themself leave you no lasting compensation for all that money spent over your life other than the memories themself. Not all movies are good, not all trips/vacations will necessarily go well either.

One would hope that someone playing this game for as long as it takes to gain end game did enjoy their time on it, and any money spent on it is therefore worthwhile. There are aberrations, the people who oracle 70%+ of their level and such, but more worrisome than a heavy CSer would be someone spending so much of their life on an experience that they really don't enjoy.
