Leveling Speed

Hey,
Just wondering, me and my friend would like to level together in a squad. My fried is a veno and I'm a Blademaster so obviously we cant level together 1-20 but when we hit 20 if we do all our quests together will we level at the same speed? I know there are class restricted quests even after lvl20 especially for a veno but assuming we ignore those ones will we level at the same speed?
Thanks.

In general you would, but its very hard to remain in perfect sync unless you do everything together and are never online when the other person isnt. Once dailies start to come about (30+ for CS, 40+ for BH, etc), if you play when the other doesnt, chances are you'll do things that place you out of sync. Even if you just help others, you might get FB tab XP. However if you're totally dedicated to staying in rough sync, whoever get ahead can avoid doing CS daily while the other does it (just making 5 stones & waiting 10+ minutes, which other stuff can be done during the wait). Also, its not really a big deal if someone is a bit ahead, even a level or 2, you could still do the same content, the person who's ahead waits on picking up quests or waits on their FBs till the other has the level. It shouldnt be a big issue.0

the only class specific quest i can thik of is your cultivation lv 19 and your call of duty (fb19) other then that every quest is for everyonegenesis (r.i.p.) ===> conqueror (r.i.p.) ===> zen (r.i.p.) ===> iam (r.i.p.) ===> guardianz (r.i.p.) ===> spectral ===> essence
starting to be a nice guild hoppers b:surrender

AFAIK there are NO class restricted quests. Some quests are different for each class but the end rewards are the exact same.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

There is a Venomancer only quest and there is a male only quest somewhere between 20 and 40.
If u lvl different just un-squad, let the lower one grind an little until ur even. then squad again.0 -

Venomancers have a few extra "go capture me an egg of blah blah creature" here & there. Also Tideborn only have additional Weapon Token quests every 10 levels for a possible mold reward. And as someone prior stated there's a male gender only quest somewhere in the 30s. So yes there are a few quests around beyond 20 that are only available to certain characters.
Also way up at 89+, there's different quests for sage & demon. These quests are not mirrored. Utilizing PWdatabase (since i have both a demon & sage character at the same level), and searching alot i have covered them all (regardless of many sage ones not showing on find quests). Many levels i get more sage quests, other levels i get more demon quests, the XP from quests per level isnt identical.0 -
The only problem with this is that you will both lvl slower and one will be higher. You will get the xp but no quest as all untamed do their quests from to 20 around the Lost City. The Humans do all their quests around Etherblade so this put one of you at an advantage and one at a disadvantage.
You will eventually meet at the Arch and can go do all the quests together.Have Fun.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0 -
good news though
later on as teh amount of exp needed to get to the next level gets greater and greater, you guys can be like 5 or more (a bit harder if you guys be like too far apart though) levels apart and still do stuff together.

you'll get mob quests done faster, with slightly less exp per monster killed.
this is negligable now with the new bh system. lvln as a duo is the best way to go0 -

Levelling together probably wont be of any help. You will find you get the quests done easier sure, but its just easier becauuse you avoid some of the grind, which you then have to make up by grinding out the rest of the level.
*If* there were infinite quests it would be faster.
As for speed while grinding, its probably slower xp overall if you fight the same mob, because you end uptravelling just as much distance between mobs, but each mob is only 50% of the xp. 2 person group parties are usually best just kuilling their own mobs, but staying within range to get the bonus.
When you get to higher levels and you can start exploring the possibilities of aoeing mobs, it might be faster. Im not an expert at how a BM and veno work together, but I dont see any particularly good synergy. If bm has agro and stungs, you can do aoe I suppose, but then you're not using your pet. Trying to hold agro with herc probably wont work wonders with or without a BM. (I always found soloing with a phoenix faster xp than "AOE'ing" with a herc"0 -
As other posters have indicated, if you and your friend are generally online at the same time and do most of your quests together, you should lvl around the same speed. My husband and I did all of our quests together (after lvl 20) on both our toons and we're currently the same lvl. There will be times where you may be a lvl or 2 apart from each other (deaths, or side quests that you might do when the other is not available) but provided you dont do too many things alone, it shouldnt be a problem. We do try to wait for each other though. If I'm a lvl ahead, i might skip a cs or a bounty just to wait for him to catch up so our quests stay the same. We also check with each other what quests we have before taking new ones so we stay on the same pace. Good luck!0

I would suggest making an alt that you can work on when your partner is not available. Leveling together with someone is fun only for a while then it becomes tedious. I speak from experience.0

- a) time spent finding/running to a mob
- b) time spent killing the mob
- c) time spent recovering from fight
(a) remains more or less constant whether you fight together or apart.
(b) is halved by fighting together. Actually, slightly more than halved since you spend a smaller portion of the time healing, meaning a greater portion dealing damage.
Taking just the first two factors into account, it's better to split up and kill separately. e.g. If solo you spent 50% of your time doing (a) and 50% of your time doing (b), then killing together would result in a bit less than 75% of the time to kill solo with 50% of the exp. Not worth it.
But (c) changes everything. If you're a class which can have a significant amount of downtime or consumes a lot of resources (e.g. pots) between/during fights, then the reduction in (c) can easily make up the ~25% time difference; and fighting together becomes a winning proposition. The more time (c) takes for a class, the more likely it is they are better off fighting together.
Barbarians probably have the highest (c) cost. They take a long time to kill a mob, and consequently have to heal back a lot of damage after the fight. So fighting together usually works best for them. At the opposite end, venos probably have the lowest (c) cost. A longer fight just costs them a couple extra heals, which doesn't take much mana at all. So fighting apart usually works best for them (not to mention it's the only way to assure the pet always gets exp).0 -
personally, i prefer questing with a partner. but it all depends on which classes are paired off together. barb and cleric, or bm and cleric, or assassin and cleric is good. psychic and archer is great. not sure about wizzies tho. and venos... idk. i havent found any class that compliments me in a duo. but with THAT said, playing all by my self for 99 lvls has been very very lonely b:cry
but grinding, like for exp, its best to solo i guess. but i really dont think that anybody is going to need to do much grinding anymore because of the new bh. if you're in an extreme rush to lvl, then sure, youre going to want to grind. but if you're not, then the dailies are more than enough to lvl you at a good rate and make up for any mob exp you're short from lvln with a partner.0 -

there is a female counterpart to the male only quest. To my knowledge past lvl 19 there are no specific "quests"I would suggest making an alt that you can work on when your partner is not available. Lots of people do this. Have an alt they work on while their "partner" isn't online. Its a good idea if you have someone u want to quest with specifically on another char.0 -
