Deaden Nerves?

Erh, so recently, I got the skill Deaden Nerves and I am not too sure on how it works.
Does the skill save me from an attack that might kill me ONCE by evasion and then restore 20% HP immediately, or what?
Because I remember having it up, but then I died, hoping I'd get 20% HP back. Maybe I wasn't looking when it ran out. S:

You weren't looking when it ran out.

Fun test: Put the buff up, and then go stab Harpy Wraith. Getting hit with a 20k damage nuke won't kill you. For additional fun, toss up Focused Mind, and see how long you can last.

My record is getting 10 hits off before Harpy killed me.

Put simply, no matter how much damage from a single hit you take (Whether you have 2k hp and get hit with 17k dmg, or have 4hp and get hit with 5dmg), if Deaden Nerves is active, you WILL NOT DIE from that hit. After the hit that would supposedly kill you, Deaden Nerves kicks in and recovers 20% of your maximum HP and the buff goes away.

I can only think of two reasons why it wouldn't work.
    1. Deaden Nerves ran out just as you got hit
      or
    2. You got hit a second time so quickly that Deaden Nerves seemed like it didn't kick in at all

Does this mean that, if you run really fast and click really fast, you just MIGHT be able to escape the 1 shotting things in Have a Listen EX (room.. I forgot what # in Cube of Fate)? =P

Probably not, since they probably stay aggro.. but it's nice to dream, lol.

Well, you'd be able to at least survive the first assault. XD

And you could probably use it to survive a careless mistake with the hands in TT. b:cute

Haven't personally tried the hands or the listen room yet, however it seems to work fine for the ants in Dragon Gate EX, 90k dmg OO, why am I alive 97k dmg, oop nvm I be dead.

Didn't realize the bugger had caught me and I'd avoided insta-death till it was too late
I can see what you see not,
    Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn, they will be gone,
    Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be,
Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind,
Cast down into the Halls of the Blind.

You can also seal them with FoW, which will actually make them run away b:laugh
