    Why the hell does a 6-7 year old need a cell phone? Thats like what grade 2?

    The funny part is, the kids do only use it for playing games most of the times or doing other unecessary b.ulls.hit aka "look here mine is new and way more pro than yours". Its basically just a new-generation Game Boy.

    Yeah that scared me when I saw Japanese 1st graders with cellphones.

    One of my second cousins has a real, albeit non-functional cellphone he likes to pretend talking to his daddy with. He's 4 and he loves the thing, apparently. I say in 3 years, 4 years tops, he has his own.

    I was 17 when I got my own, and my mom used it to check where I was all the time >_>.

    b:chuckle I got my first cellphone in... the end of 2007..... If i'm 14 now... and its 2010... I was about 11 when i got my first rofl.

    Only used it for texting and parents.. didn't get a real one like iPhone until... it came out b:chuckle

    Care to guess what it's like in Finland? We INVENTED the damned things. Every kid already has his/hers first cellphone before the school, so there's really no point in making statistics about them anymore...

    P.S. I'm giving my old cellphone to my nephew when he starts the 1st grade.

    I got mine when I was 13 =P with being the first child starting highschool mum liked to be able to call me. I'm not exactly the most social creature with highschool students, and didn't buy my own credit, so it was only used to contact mum or be contacted. xD

    I am 17 now, and I don't even use a mobile, i'm either at home or at school at the moment. If someone wants to contact me they can email me or call me with the house phone. =P Kinda pointless for me to carry around a mobile atm.

    6 year old's = Kindergarten/first 7 year old's = 2nd

    Personally, i despise cell phones, and wish i DIDN'T have one, but unfortunately i need it so work can call me in if they need me (yet another reason to not want one lol).

    I'm 21 as well and I didn't have a cell phone until 6 months ago... when I moved out of my mom's house to my current apartment... She wanted to be able to call me wherever I was b:chuckle I don't like the cell phone too much but she pays for it so, no complaining here!
