Twilight gear is nice because it's all neatly piled into one level 70 group. Legendary is more sparsely populated and you'll have to wait to get all the pieces you need. Personally I find legendary armors are generally the stronger in terms of bonuses. TT70 arcanewear isn't awful by any stretch, but it lacks many of the benefits you can get on legendary gears such as magic stat enhancements.

Of course, the big downside is that legendary gear, while more specialised, is very sporadic. There are huge leaps inbetween legendary armor pieces (lvl 77 is the earliest mage body after the lvl 22 one!) and rarely any full sets to be owned. Twilight gear, on the other hand, comes complete as a full set at level 70 allowing you to upgrade that much sooner.

My cleric isn't yet high enough for TT70, but I have a full TT70 set on my wizard. I mostly use it because its the strongest gear for my level and since it will last me until level 80 (a good distance away) its worth the investment.

Still, use your own judgment. Weigh up the pros and cons of each piece since theres no rule saying you need to own the whole set.

So Deceptistar, you suggest not going with the TT/HH70 armor set? I'm wondering about this as well, because I'm close to 70 myself, and unfortunately I'm very poorly geared. I was thinking the 70 set, because 1) it's a powerful upgrade for horrible (current) gear; 2) it is a full set in and of itself; and 3) I'm not sure how long it will take to get to 80, so it seems to me that it might be worth it. But then again, I'm not sure myself. :P

i wouldnt have recommended this a a few months back, but due to the new quests, such as the old heavens tear boss cards coming out, There has now been an overwhelming amount of 3 star gears with nice stats out in the AH. Instead of running TTs constantly or farming monies you just need to window shop the AH as much as you can. And the speed you will lvl nowadays with the new dailies and extra quests, pitching in for too much gear at the starting lvl of TTs..... well.... you CAN...but if you have a budget then half the pple will end up wishing they could slap their past self.

Yeah, I went with 3-star gear with good stats to get me through my 70s on my cleric.

    For example, my ***70 top
    3 sockets
    Phys. def + 69
    Phys. def + 69
    Sharded with 3 flawless citrines

(Still using that top, btw b:cute )

For head, find a nice 3 star.
For chest, TT70 chest is quite nice
For leggings, Dark Pants of Hades is VERY nice, and you'll probably use it through your 80s too
    For boots, it's generally a toss-up between TT and a 3 star.
For your weapon, people are generally divided between the lvl 70 mold wep (fairly good and quite cheap) or TT weps (varying degrees of ****-kickery)

P.S. This is what I'm doing in 2 levels (Acalantha wand for the wep, as I'm getting the TT80 gold wand once I get there)

Since no one else is gonna say it, I will

TT70 armor sucks donkey poo, don't get it.

Get a 3* top with +physical resist, dark pants of hades, 3* boots with +physical resist, and sleeves of the sea captain. Don't even bother with TT70, it's practically worthless, as it gives nothing that arcane classes genuinely need (+Physical resist, Vit, HP)

What must you think of little old me then, spending an absolute fortune on level 40-50 gear? Armor of Barb Shaman, Boots of Tiger strength, three stars abound and legendary ornaments...

Im of the small crowd which is proud of their gear whatever their level. I might spend a lot more than your average player, but if I perform well so does my squad. And they always appreciate a cleric who does her best, even the grumpy ones!

For lvl 7x, I recommend the HH70(I think it's called TT70 here?) green armor with HP stones.

At 9x I've found it's better to switch over to physical def stones in your armor.

As far as weapon goes, if you can afford it, or can get your hands on it, I would get the lvl 70 gold magic sword mold/crafted weapon. That's only if you have a lot of gold to spare though. That sword has +physical defense which is very useful to a priest, as far as pvp goes.

If you don't have gold falling out your ears, and you have no interest in any form of pvp/territory war at this level, then the best sword you can get is the 70green one with the +vitality and + mana stats.

I appologize for not being able to give the names of these swords, as I'm not too familiar with the names in this version of the game, but hopefully I'll catch on as I play.

Griefs Breath - TT70 with vit
    Ashura's sign - TT70 with mag
    Sakyamuni's light - 70 magic sword mold

That the TT70 robe is total ****.

You could in theory skip TT70 armor and use NPC gear if you're looking to save money. Getting any gold 7x armor is a huge waste. So is the sword.

I recommend all green armor and this "Griefs Breath - TT70" ^^

If you're broke, go with the TT armor. Not only are the runs fun, but as a cleric, it'll be easy to find squads.

If you're one of those people that doesn't like dungeons (WTF is wrong with u ppl?!?), then i recommend AH gear, as TT gear will likely be more expensive.

The TT armor isn't great, but it's not as horrible as some would have you believe either. I use it on my cleric, and i get along fine.

~EDIT~ as far as ur wep goes, i recommend either Grief's Breath for the +vit bonus, or the Alacantha Wand if your hp is already over 3000.

I hear this way too often and I have one thing to say to people who think this. What a load of rubbish.

Gold armors are, without doubt, the strongest of their kind. At level 7x you're going to be at that range for a while before you can equip something better, and if you're going to be stuck in a certain level range for any length of time its ALWAYS worth having strong equipment. Saying that they should avoid it is simply bad advice.

Yes, I realise there are much better gears at level 8x and so on and so forth, but the time spent getting there (aside from the 'hardcore' players) is long enough to warrant having decent gear before then. Furthermore there are later gears at level 77-ish, which are good enough to keep well into the eighties anyway.

Weapon-wise, I've always preferred Sakyamuni's Light. It's strong, adds physical defense and can be refined without worrying about decomposing it later for better TT items. Having said that though, Alacantha Wand is a solid choice thanks to its neat damage range for consistency which is always very useful for clerics and with decent refining, can be a very strong weapon, if you can justify the costs.
