Please Fix Problem With Hotkeys

This is bad. You can't assign hotkeys to use the up or down arrows. I am left-handed and most lefties use the inverted arrow keys for character movement, since their left hand controls the mouse. It is too difficult to use the right hand on A, S, W, D.

I don't know if the devs will change that anytime soon.

As a lefty myself (write and draw with my left, play sports with my right), I have adapted to this by using s gamepad to play such games, or I have trained my right hand to work for me.

But, you are in luck. I just checked in-game, you can re-map WASD to the Number Lock number keys how you see fit, so that should help with your issue b:pleased
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

No, you can't actually. You cannot map the UpArrow/DnArrow keys at all, which would be for forward/backward movement. This is what needs fixing.

You said you wanted to be able to move your character with your right hand, so your left would be on the mouse.

The arrow keys are inconveniently placed for long term play anyway, IMHO. They can not be remapped currently.

However, re-mapping the WASD keys to the Num Lock keys of 8456 (or IJKL) will solve your issue for your right hand. I use it, and it works fine.

Do you have a full size keyboard?

Do Home/Delete/End/PgDown buttons also work or they are reserved by system too?

Delete is reserved (as is Insert).

There are options for lefties...some ppl are just stubborn and set in their ways and ONLY want to use the up/down/left/right arrows.

I am left handed too - and a genuine one (i've seen a lot of people who say they're left-handed but do a lot more stuff with their right hand than me).
The game not having custom controls was painful enough..not having proper custom controls is dissapointing. Just because a bigger % of the people are right handed it doesn't mean we don't have the right to receive something that you have for granted..
I use the numpad now but it is cutting off my party selection shortcuts which i used when the arrows were availabe (numpad 1-5).
It really is faster to hit the key instead of clicking on the small menu till the game decides to select what you clicked on 5 times.
And too bad delete is reserved would have been more comfortable with those. :/

How do you all get the idea that right-handed people have the advantage here?

Where do you suppose our squad hotkeys are? Oh...yeah, the right side of the keyboard. Well...I use my right hand for the mouse; how can I possibly hit buttons on the right side of my keyboard?

I mean, really, of all the issues that have come from the recent expansion/patches...this is what bothers people the most?!? Adapt.

I get the idea from my right handed husband whose computer is right next to mine.

p.s. You should try adapt to numpad moving - probably the same as me adapting to wasd moving.
It is bothersome because we HAD the arrows at first, we had full customization - then they were taken away for who knows what reason. I deal with numpad but accept you are moving as you wish from day 1.

I wonder if you'd feel the same way if they changed the standard right-hander's A,S,W,D keys to say I,J,K,L? Arrow keys are the standard for left-handed players and work in every other game I've played.

I don't think squad keys are used quite as much as movement keys.

I agree with most everyone's posts, but I am not the developer and don't make code changes.

All I can do is work to try and help you be able to get in game and play b:victory

I prefer playing with a gamepad, as it is more comfortable and way easier to do things without working my fingers out. I have most frequently used things mapped to the left side of the dual action gamepad so the d-pad has 8 buttons I can map things to it.

As a left handed person, I've had to learn to adapt to many of the things in a right handed dominated world. I'm sorry the game is kind of another one of those things for you.

People are quick to yell discrimination when it comes to gender or ethnic issues, while left-handers have been discriminated against more than any minority, while we're probably one of the largest, estimated at around 700 million people.

The bottom line is, I don't think it's a big deal to fix this when it's probably one character of code for each key to alter.

I have carpal tunnel in my right wrist, so I've had to adapt to a lot when it comes to online gaming. There have been days where I've been in the middle of an instance and all of a sudden I'm left with only being able to use one hand. Trust me, I've adapted to a lot. Try using the mouse AND the keyboard with only your non-dominant hand...

Honestly...that would just mean I move the keyboard slightly to the left and then my hands would be closer together...oh well...

As for the squad keys...I only use them on my cleric to make it easier when barbs lose aggro to the DD's. It wouldn't matter much to me if I didn't have them; just means I'd have to click with the mouse.

I understand you guys are upset b/c you had this function and then they took it away, but perhaps they have a plan. Maybe there is a reason they did it.
