Well, I recently wanted to revisit an old picture that I did... a while ago xD Man did I suck x_x I was also... a low level...

I'm also totally in love with the level 7x heavy set b:surrender it looks so awesome but holy **** is it hard to draw! I need a little feedback so I know whether to lighten or darken it. :/ it always looks light on my computer so I have a hard time and accidentally make things too dark...

Here's the before pic... of what I did a year ago.

Tell me what you think! I would also like to fix stuff if it's off before I call it finished.... but before you get too awfully picky, please do remember that it's not finished yet xD

Edit: Updated to a little more... finished xD x_x still working on it.

ANOTHER Edit: Took Deceptistar's advice o.o the armor looks much better now.

YET ANOTHER EDIT: I decided her face didn't look quite right... so I fix it xD

    I honestly didn't think the first one was bad either, but I'm always partial to black outlines to make stuff look more crisp in styles like that. That's just my bias as a pencil and pen artist.

    You definitely don't need them on the newer one, I have nothing to suggest.

    xD and yea... I wasn't sure what Kyna would look like as a real person o.o so I winged it... I suppose that's about right xD She certainly looks like she was meant to be a blademaster.

    I do need a good idea for a background... b:surrender I didn't have a really good one... I just knew that I wanted it to be dark... so I put the gradient in there to help me with my shading...

    If anyone has screenshots or suggestions for a background... please x_x do tell.

    As an aside, I'd love to do a new sig for you with this, when it's done (or at least, closer to being so)

    those look very nice, especially the second one. To push it up a notch i would sugges adding more lights and darks to the armor in the second one, to help the armor compare to the hair's detail and facial detail. At the moment it looks like the face is done and hair is finished but the armor is in progress and still being worked on.

    I love the arm in the back, having it be so simple in comparison to the rest of the picture is a great stylistic choice.

    Thanks for the comments guys ^^ I added a little more of an update.

    And I'll be sure to hang out near immolation camp to get some screenies and see what I can get to work with. Thanks for the suggestion! Also ^^ I wouldn't mind if you made a siggy with it xD would be great... my siggy skills aren't the best in the world... b:surrender

    one option is maybe trying to minimize the pic (just scaling the % down on the preview window), make a layer over that and add in shades. (with a huge brush) What pple tend to have trouble with huge pictures are seeing the overall shades because so many smaller shadings preoccupy their attention.

    ^^ Thanks guys! b:cute I'm glad you all seem to like it so much. I'd post some sort of photoshop anyone interested could see how I work... but ... um... I'm so unorganized I doubt anyone could follow it x_x

    Still looking for a few screenies and such of a good idea for a background. Haven't totally decided yet. I was almost tempted to try the HH 3-x for it but I'd have to get in there and look around before I can really decide. b:surrender

    If anyone has screenshots of that area I'd love them!

    Hmm I just had a thought, this website/magazine was is really useful for me, but with your talent I'm sure you can use some of their more advanced tips too!

    ^^ thanks, I'll be sure to take a look... see if I can afford it x_x starving artists ... they're called that for a reason xD

    And by the way... sorry guys! I lied!!! I edited it again, a minor edit but it made the whole face look SOOOOO much better. My good friend, who shall be called Xenos, Pointed out that I may have over defined the nose compared to the rest of the features xD so I fixed it and I really feel a lot better about it now.
