me will be forced to request that your post be removed if you are merely attempting to troll or otherwise insult others. and please note that me has made this thread as an informative thread and to encourage others to maintain quality and gameplay of PWI.

heheh u know how i would test XD ... just lure all mobs around him away and run with the group mobs passed him. when he normaly woudnt attack cause no target at that time cause u all round them up .. then just walk with the group passed him again and see what happens xD if he auto att after no reply on pms and stuff ect ect then he is bot i guess XD

OT: Nightscream island is notorious, as people hardly ever go there, and the mobs give decent drops and or exp, but im gonna go keep an eye out when i go AoE grind tomorow

me could have technically reported her for griefing as she did kill me 2 times (and easily a 3rd time if me hadn't bothered to continue on me way) and was attempting to prevent me from leaving town. (she would try to fly ahead of me and get me out of safe zone....of course me went past her easily on me basic aerosword while she had a cash shop flying mount)

xD this could work but um some of them prefer to bot on non aggressive mobs. which would make luring all the them a bit hard. but if they be fighting aggressive mobs, then why not. (^.^)

i commend you hamsta. we need more players like this on the servers since the gm presence in game is quite lacking. and yet forum presence is quite large compared to most forums. <----backwards in my opinion. i think they should give a select few players who have demonstrated exemplary forum and in game player interaction for a long period of time the ability to contact the ingame gm if they see something odd or out of place. since these players would be interacting directly with players it would give them a better perspective of what is actually going on as the gm's seem to mostly sit in there gm spot at the bottom of the map and watch world chat, if there even there at all. and if these player started to abuse there power(somehow as its only whispering a gm) then at a gm's discretion there power could be removed. im not saying this should be implemented exactly as ive said but i think something similer at least. either that or hire more gms who actually wander about in game.

The GM's dont do badly although they miss alot in-game but people have to understand the size of PW's PlayerBase so GM's haven't got time to **** around baby sitting the people on the server's when they have a million and one tickets to sort though.

I saw a grand total of 1 (one) bot in the year I've been here.

Hacking, botting, and goldselling are rampant in just about every F2P mmo I can think of. Lack of thereof in PWI is one of, if not THE biggest reason I've been around this long.

They most certainly take botting seriously -- in fact, too seriously.

I had hit 90 on my veno, her nix was 87, so I went to that beach area to grind on lvl 100 mobs to level the nix up. I had continuously tabbed to different mobs, and stayed in the same place, as the nix was flying all over the place tearing them up. Some person gets mad because apparently they got ks'd, even though there were many other places to go (I wasn't even paying attention, just saw nobody there when I got there), they reported me. Some person named "GM" messages me a bunch of weird ****, telling me to message them, spelling their own name wrong because I couldn't message them, several times teleporting me to the city of Raging Tide, me flying back there again, then teleporting me to Land of the Buried Bones where I almost got killed, then teleporting me back, appearing, then I finally said hi, then they disappeared without a word. What the hell is that? I don't get the impression they even know what botting actually is, given the strange ineptitude in communicating, and the fact that I had just got there before I was reported within a few minutes, and was accidentally attacking mobs (doing no damage as they are elemental immune) when using my "1" key instead of alt+1.

I have never actually spotted a "botter" myself, either.

While I've seen botters myself in sactuary, Underneath Dreamweavor on water mobs. I don't like it, I don't support it and I think it's cheating.. However.. I also think that this thread is a bad idea.. Some people who might use bots but didn't think there were any for Pw, Will know there are some now.. But will just be careful when they use them... You're spreading the word unintentionally that there are indeed bots available.. This Entire thread should have been done in private messages between GMs.

Me has actually sent a private message with spoons as to whether me could make this thread or not.
As for those who be careful when using it...me has gotten the okie provided me keep this thread in line.

as for more people suddenly botting, me hope to raise awareness so that more people be on the lookout thus discouraging botting.

and as for botters being more careful somehow allowing them to continue to bot,there already happens to be those who near religiously stay near their computers attempting to evade me...(since me has caught a few of them multiple times now)...yet me still managed to get definitive evidence of them. As long as they continue bot and as long as me am aware of their locations me will catch them in due time.

Cute thread but here's a reality check:

Botting isn't a problem anymore. Mainly because people dont grind like they used to. Last year when all the fresh 8x and 9x were grinding on the upper left side of the Map, grinding was definitely a common thing. I remember a Fish party @ Sea of Isolation when I was 8x, grinding, and the cleric said "Tabbing back out I'll check back in a few minutes" while she continued to target and kill mobs. Was pretty funny actually, lol. But seriously, people who want to level fast just get Oracles or buy accounts. Who the **** bots and why is there a thread about it lol.

Thankfully PWI isn't a game full of botters, like many other Free2Play games...

and....off on a side note, me pretty sure the people who do bot be desperate, lazy people who merely wish to get a high level character, free money, etc etc all for doing little to no work.

Yup. When I was grinding on those lvl 100 air mobs to level my veno's nix, I had tabbed the next mob as my nix was going for the previous mob, and as soon as I saw an exp pop-up I already had told it to attack the next mob and hit tab again. b:chuckle

To be honest, i never looked for bots or even noticed one. And frankly, i don't care. I'm on a pve server, and i play my toon(s) for my own pleasure.

Make another toon and do the same thing ?....booooring.

The moment you start botting, wether it be on pvp or pve server, you prove you have NO concept of gaming=FUN.

Good idea to report people that are botting, esp on pvp servers (unfair advantage maybe), imo it's a sad thing to see someone botting. It truly means they don't even know how to have some fun.

Me agree....that botting shows that you has no respect for the game, and merely be too lazy to work for your stuff....(either that or you be a huge jerk who main goal be to **** people over...)

also ya....the new tab feature has made it a little bit more difficult to distinguish who be who.

but me suspect that their programs has not caught up with the new feature yet....
so....
their movements still be less fluid and slower then regular people.

Yesterday some random guy checked if I'm not a bot by just pming "hi". I just answered back "hi" and gave him Most Useless Buff in The Game (Frostblade :P).
Worked, he returned to farming mats, I returned to grinding ;]

No need to be agressive, if you suspect someone is botting, start with simple "hi", "how's it going?" etc.
If they bot, you will have proof anyway, If they don't, they won't be offended b:chuckle

now on a serious note i have seen only 1 botter in the past
it was some veno with herc the veno didnt do anything and the herc would be auto healed from like 30% to 100% hp instantly(in 1 heal) after killing some mobs

They will quit alright - after the game is destroyed. I saw first hand how bots take a good game and trash it.

Absolutely do NOT allow botting in any way shape or form. I am enjoying PWI, coming here from another game where botters have made it impossible to log in, grind and quest. The botters are so thick in that game that it took me almost 9 hours to log in one day. (I got determined to log in after spending days on end of trying to log in and not being able to.) People were multi-clienting getting in game gold and selling it online for real money. Assuming you could get logged in, massive numbers of bots were grinding in questing areas 10 levels below theirs so they would 1-hit ks you with you just standing there all pissed off. It got impossible to do anything but walk around. BOTS ARE EVIL!!! If botters get a firm hold on a game, it will die just like the game I came here from.

Good on ya, Hamsta! I definitely report anything that looks like botting along with screen shots and descriptions of what I see.

When you go search for botters, in no way can you be objective when you spot a 'situation'. The human brain don't work like that. What you want to see is most often what you end up seeing.

For the same reason i report botters and other illegal activity. If I ever see you or anyone like you visiting the area i'm in, looking for botters and nothing else (i can read behaviour too). I can garantee i will capture the action and submit a ticket. In that manner you are ruining the game in same way as the botters are.

Continue to report botters my friends that come in your way, but keep it at that. And plz be objective, we don't want a witch hunt on our hands.

Me find your reasoning strange....
Please state where me wandering in search of bots (even if this be me one and only goal) around be against the ToS in anyway shape or form.

and although me do not have the ToS committed to memory me are not worried....me always has secondary objectives while me search for bots. (Mainly since me can take a slight detour during WQ, as well as the fact that me farm mats for monies, perhaps even choose to grind on a few of the mobs there for either EXP or Item drops, etc etc) There can also be nongaming related objectives ias well. I.E: Sight seeing, exploring, just goofing off.

Edit: Okies me has reviewed the ToS and me has only found stuff against botting and nothing against me checking for botters.

I don't hunt bots but when I am in an area and a person seems to be acting Botsih I pay atttention while I am there.

If I have determined after investigation that it is indeed a bot I report him.

The sad case is I have heard from many in-game that they think its 100% OK to bot.

That's just sad. But then again, in the end, most people only care bout themselves. b:sad
