Lunar valley

Hey guys,
So i read the lunar valley guide 1-4 and i'm still wondering about some basic questions.
I heard there is a single and squad mode. Is it viable to do single mode? (if it's something like TT solo mode it's just horrible )
How much mats can you except from a full run? Would it be viable to farm it for Lunar 95 armour?
If i have more questions i will post them :P

i will try to answer some of your points..
1 = solo mode must be activated by doing a quest in squad mode
2 = the difficulty of the solo mode is par wise with TT, but dont forget that the solo modes can be done by up to 4 persons.
- you must be 4 to open TT squad mode, only 2 for lunar squad.(solo mode is to be understood as in openable by a single person)
3 = you will never get most of the special items in solo mode of lunar.. but useful to farm for base mats.
4 = full run takes some hours, and even if you get special drops from the bosses.. you wont have enough base mats for making anything....
5 = you forget about the special mode (the name doesnt come to mind right now) usefull to farm special mats.. but at a priceI look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.
Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.0 -
So in a nut shell:
I need to do squad mode first with full squad till i can unlock single mode.
I do not mind spending some hours in there to farm for mats. but farming basic mats alone ( or with 4 people ) would be a nice thing to do. It would take a less restrained on my friends who said they are gonna help me farm lunar armour ^^
Do you mean Deity mode? you can get deity scrolls with tokens. But what does it exactly do?I'm famous! i'm on ecatomb0 -
Reivi is mostly right.
1) Single mode is indeed 'turned on' by doing a quest in squad mode. It is the 'Alone in the Valley' quest to kill the Shoveal mobs in the second valley. Actually shouldn't take too long, and you can almost always find peeps that need it.
2) Lunar solo is actually easier than solo TT. Especially the bosses. Easily tanked by a veno 94+ without a herc. They all do physical attack, no AoE, and have about 250k life. Barb/BM with cleric should be a cake walk.
3) Like she says, you will not get most of the special mats in Solo mode. In fact, you'll barely get any. You really only get Fragments and Crystals. With enough runs you can make your Fragment Crystal and Transparent Crystal used toward your Lunar green armor. But you will still need many Essence (Aqua, etc.) to make the green armor, and those are only dropped in squad mode. You could also buy the Frag Crystal for 59 Mysterious Chips and 1.26M coin, or the Transparent Crystal for 42 Chips and 900k.
4) Not sure if she's talking about Solo or Squad mode. Solo mode can be run relatively fast since each time you enter you only get to do 3 valleys. You can pick a new 'starting' valley each time you enter but will always end at the same valley. A Squad mode run will take anywhere from 6 to 10 hours depending on squad. Well essentially it can take much more if you're really slow.
5) Neo-deity mode requires the scrolls and God's Breath to activate. You select the boss you want, get ported right to that valley with no mobs except the boss. He will be MUCH easier (like Solo) and drop the really good stuff. But it gets really expensive for the higher bosses. Caps out at 40 scrolls and 5 God's Breath for the highest bosses I think. You actually trade a scroll for God's Breath, so essentially it's all scrolls. I think it's 1 scroll for 5 God's Breath from the Unknown Merchant in Frostcovered City. Or so says PWDatabase.0 -

How many runs would you estimate for the essences required in green lunar gear? It seems like the rest are easily attainable if you have enough chips and coin.0 -
So my idea:
Do squad mode to get the single mode unlocked.
Do single mode till i get my essential mats which i cannot get thru chips.
Then make money to get the mats which i can get with chips ( i do know that gold ones are 23 mil each, but meh....i make about 20 mil each week in cat shop )
Or do solo runs till i get my basic mats, see what mats i still need to make my gear and try my luck with neo deity mode
well thnx for the heads up, now to find people that wanna do squad mode with me till solo mode is unlocked lol
I just want something other people don't, but still is end game. So i figured i wanna go lunar armour then revamp into nirvanaI'm famous! i'm on ecatomb0 -

what do you sell in your cat shop that makes you 20 mil per week
and how do your farm what you sell?0 -

Well that depends on the gear. But let's take the chest piece as an example. It needs:
Aqua (2)
Flame (2)
Earth (2)
Life (2)
Steel (5)
That's a total of 13 Essence's.
Honestly, it's hard to say. If you can do runs during 2x weekends you'll be better off. There's also the special bosses (like Ancient Tigara) that drop all different types of essence and gold mats. So beating them would quicken it as well. But they're very hard. It can be much like TT runs... some have crazy drops. Others, you barely get anything.
You could probably pull off 1+ essence per run in the right squad. It's tricky though, since depending on path taken you won't even hit every valley, and you'd have to kill the boss in the last valley at a chance for more essence. Of course, he also drops gold mats you would need later. May depend on your luck or how generous your squad is. You could also think about asking through World Chat to buy the essence you need. Expect to pay 1M+ for anything except an Aqua (600k+) right now as I write this.0 -

I would just stick to doing Squad mode. You'll naturally obtain the mats you would get through Solo mode during the Squad mode. They're all dropped from simple mobs. And everything can be obtained for armor and weapons through Mysterious Chips EXCEPT the Essences, which only drop in Squad or Neo-Deity mode. Lunar accessories are a different story depending on which one you want.0 -

And if i tell exactly how to do it.....what would that do to my market?
I just know how to play the market. Am not here to give out my edge on the competition ^^.
Now on-topic:
Seems as it's not viable to farm for a whole armour set. But better to get TT set of armour but try to farm for lunar ornaments. The ornaments need basically the same mats as the armour and in the long run that seems more viable then full armour set farming. well there goes my idea lolI'm famous! i'm on ecatomb0 -

Yep Single mode is able to be opened by one person as long as you have an Essence of Nature, which is made from 5 of each of the Heaven/Hell mats.
It is fairly easy, a veno without a herc can solo it as well. I solo it with an armored bear, kowlin, and a few other select pets. My husband also goes with me and helps to make the single mode run faster.
Best advice, if you're going for all the gear you can, then do as many of the single modes as you can as this will ensure you get all the soulgems, fragments, and crystals as you can. In squad mode, there's no telling if you'll get a crystal or not. Essences... well unless you're gonna spend an arm and a leg to get the tokens to make the neo diety scrolls, best to farm squad modes.
Keep in mind the Ancient Tigara, that Vell mentioned, is in the same league as Relic of Wind. So might be wise to avoid Tigara, unless you are certain your squad can handle him._Jaysun_'s Wife

For all those that told me Lunar Gold wasn't worth the hassle of farming... but now have the Nirvana versions... I laugh at you. Hypocrites.0 -
Can someone plz explain to me step by step how to do the 3mil run. I did it but fail on 3mil. we killed all the mobs (whole) cave and did not recived the last boss. Did I missed something or did i do it wrong..0

Did you get one of the final bosses? You have to choose which boss you want. There is a complete stickied guide on Lunar Glade. Here's a quote of the part from that guide about choosing the final boss :Here's the important part. This room has two paths leading out of it, one to the left, and one to the right. There is a physical immune tombstone mob on each path. Killing this mob spawns the Humorum valley boss - Genesiac Blink; and depending on which tombstone you kill results in different 2nd valley and different final bosses.
[1.]Right path tombstone
If you opt to kill the right tombstone, you will get metal valley as your 2nd and get Drake Fling as your final boss.
[2.]Left path tombstone
Killing the left tombstone results in poison valley as your 2nd and Relic of Wind as your final boss.
[3.]Both tombstones
Killing both tombstones before killing Genesiac Blink will result in having Cognitum valley as your 2nd valley and Primal Fear as your final boss.0 -

I ran Lunar today, just me and A cleric..
I came back with about 6 Chaos Essence, 2 Aqua Essence, 2 Steel Essence, roughly 10-14 of each type of Fragment and only 3 types (4-6 each) of crystal.
Just one run... it went smooth.. no bumps. I basically ran through mowing a path and the cleric came when it was time for the boss.
Now I am not sure if that is good or not. I paid the 3mil entry and have not had a chance to see if what I netted was worth the run. Time wise, it was pretty fast since I know the mobs from running Lunar Solo. To be fair, I did kill 100% off the mobs to try to maximize the crystals/fragments drops. - I did Relic of Wind btw...0
