Do you solo quests or do them in squads?

I was just wondering how everyone got their quests done, by soloing and taking a little more time to complete the quest, or by joining a squad and finishing the quest faster.

What do you do? I have noticed that I die a lot more often when I solo quests, but in a squad, you don't get the drops everytime.

Depends on your class and mobs, i solo'd all quests up untill about level 82 as a cleric. Now im squadding with people as the numbers are getting big and most are pure phys mobs that slap me abit to much for my liking.

I tend to solo, but during the first week of the RT expansion I grouped with everyone who asked because fighting for mobs was getting frustrating.

I love squads. The exp isn't really much less tbh and you get those more difficult quests done in a flash. Drops is no biggie, you can always go grinding on your favorite mob or farm mats with the extra time you've saved. And the social experience can be nice if you find someone friendly.

Problem is, I'm one of the rare few who think this way. The majority of players seem be happier hacking away solo for hours on end, crazily hoarding every shred of exp and item to themselves in some isolated corner all alone. b:surrender

It really depends, mostly I just solo the quests, I do NOT want to feel obligated to stay and help them finish there quest, if I only have 3 left to kill/collect. Though if I am just starting then sure i'll party.

Though I almost always party for the hard quests. =x (fbs, bosses, etc)

Depends, but those quests that have DUMB drop rates for the quest item, I definitely squad. for the most part though I did most of my quests solo, except for those bosses and such that I could not do alone.

I do all my quests with my girlfriend. Since level 20+ on our mains (2 different races) and since level 1 on our assassins. b:cute

I usually solo, but on rare occasions I have accepted ninja invites and particularly non-ninja invites.

Its not just about hoarding all the xp, drops. I like to quest solo then I can go at my own pace, if i want to take a break and go make a coffee I can. I dont feel obligated to HAVE to not go afk incase im leaching off others

I'm a level 21 Light Armor build cleric, with low HP, around 500.. I die a lot, what can I do to be an effective solo-er and not have to join squads to finish my quests?

I squad on freakishly long quests and hard quests, but besides that, I always solo because no1 seems to be able to keep up with me xD (also i normally end up getting ppl killed because I refuse to heal them when they expect me to kill mobs too...)

go arcane with vit build >.> la on clerics is not worth it

I solo or squad with my bf's veno pretty much all the time but if others are around i will squad if they ask more so at lower levels then now

I really like to team up with people. But the way I run quests, I tend to fly solo, taking my sweet time to do whatever I want... I'm catching up on quests around Tusk Town on my 63 cleric, I have 2x 60-mob quests to do, and I think I spent more than 3 hours on them... and they're not done yet.

I don't care. I'm alone, I can take whatever time I want. I'm only in a "hurry" to get to 70 'cause I have a nice weapon waiting x]. And at the time I take, it's not much of a hurry anyways.

I won't turn down guildies, but I will either politely decline other squad invites or will take them when I want them to go faster. Around Archo/The Mines, I highly prefer being squaded, simply because of of reduced KS due to the mass of people at these levels. The solution: I play alts my guildies.

As for stuff like BH/FBs, the more the merrier. With guildies, it's fun to blow up through a 39, 51 or a 202020 in FB69. Yes, even a 202020.

I always solo. Have never asked for help on quests save for Bosses and FB's that I can't handle by myself.

I hesitate to squad with people outside my faction, but if people ask, I usually accept.

I solo everything on my Assassin, Veno, and BM. I like getting the extra exp so that I don't have to grind as much later, the drops help fund repairs / new gear, and I really hate having to depend / wait on someone else.

The only things I DON'T solo are FB's, TT, FF, and bosses that I just can't do without help.

Think of the skills you are using and dont bother will the useless skills for your level. Cyclone is great for slowing mobs down giving u more time to put more distance in and hit urself with a heal and then carry on with a plume ready for slow to run out on the mob. Remember a mob cant hurt you if your out or range, this includes phys and ranged mobs, archer have a longer range of course but u can still get out of the range aslong as you have the max level for ur skills (some will be outta range and some wont). Also dont forget your buffs they help more as you level them.

i solo for more exp but in some real hard quests i ask for party Q_Q for example primeval towerlings those hurted b:surrender n normally on easy-mid difficulty quest i dun party but sometimes ppl gets me into one lol-

I squad if there's lots of big scary phys mobs (cleric main), but other than that I usually solo. Sesames FTW.

Definitely understand that. I'm one of those slow players who never uses pots, trolls the forums every few mins, chats and meditates a lot. Nothing worse than squading with a pot guzzling charm-a-holic who rushes you along at lightning pace. On the other-hand...part of me likes being rushed from time to time, makes me hit full potential rather than picking along bit by bit cautiously

On that note, the fact that you are dying a lot is most likely because your putting your attribute points into DEX to get LA rather than MAG. Putting your points into MAG and going for an arcane build gives you a higher attack, which means the mobs die before they hit you. If you want more survivability out of an arcane build, do 1 STR 1 VIT 8 MAG every 2 levels. You loose that extra MAG point, but you do get more HP.

As for quests, I solo what I can and squad for the FB's, BH's, TT and bosses.

Agree except for the vit. All mage classes I believe have a skill that multiplies on pdef, while their HP return on vit is poor. Garnet shards run cheaper than Citrines at the levels you should start sharding. Adding mag doesn't only increase your matk, it increases your mp recov, max mp, mdef, and healing power. It allows you much more efficient operation. The coin you save on disposable pots/ charms can be applied to permanent imbues / refines. Sure, doing pure mag proper appears to be expensive, but in the long run it should more than pay off.

I prefer to solo unless a friend has the same quest. I will squad w/ ppl to avoid having to compete over mobs though.

Often times, I'll solo, unless I know a friend/faction member has a quest, usually only accepting random invites if I ask for them, or they talk to me first. Usually, when I do, they join, and happen to only need 5 or so mobs, then leave me off on my own again, making me wonder why I accecpted the invite in the first place o_O but with soloing, things seem easier, and you tend to notice things. Like fighting Mothrans with the game music on is a bit too calming despite the area being called Lake of Woe.

If I'm not on a task to level up quickly, I prefer normal quests to be solo-ed.

Still, I like farming, so yeah, solo all the way XD
