Love life and this game

I find it interesting that nobody has commented on the negativity of addictive behaviours in general.
There's a difference between enjoying and spending 24/7 on a computer neglecting your real world duties. Now I'm not quite sure what side of the line the OPs girlfriend falls on but it doesn't sound very good.0 -

Sad to say but i think this is the only way to act. I don't tolerate that from anyone, in my opinion is better to be sad for days, weeks or years and than keep on living than be sad for life.
Think about it and think about what YOU want. It's your life, as we know we have just one, don't waste it whit someone that don't deserve it.
If you really believe that Marriage is all love, happiness, and butterflies you got another thing coming. There will be times when you totally hate your wife and that love will be gone, but it's making it through these conflicts together is what marriage is all about. Love may fade over time, but it can return.
Don't get too worried about the time she spends on the game; it is just a game, after all. There is such a thing as playing too much, though.●Wizard (Male) - Fasditious and pretentious, carries the arrogance of intellectual superiority. OP you know how getting drunk brings out peoples True side.
Well for your girlfriend playing mmo's brings out her true side. This is who she is and she will never change, because people don't change they can say they will change but do they...No!
Either you accept who she is or you dumb her ****.0 -
I have a feeling this kind of situation is fairly common and is becoming more so. It is very easy to become addicted to these games, for the fun of the game itself and also there is a social interaction, even if it is indirect. When it comes to being online, playing for 20 hours a day (I have seen and heard of this), there is a real problem and that is extremely hard to deal with.
You clearly need to know your standing with her while she needs it clear how you feel too, she may not have quite got that from your efforts so far. If you can get her out, doing something else, take a bit longer over shopping or if you go to the cinema, don't rush right on back home or go somewhere else beforehand, for example. Take the time to talk, get her take on things, life and your relationship.
You know your girlfriend better than any of us. You know if she has changed much, besides playing more. Same again, (I would imagine) you would have a good idea as to how she may react or take things that are said and actions, so think about that before and while making your approach to try and find your solution.
Someone else mentioned about having your own hobbies besides this gaming lark, it is a good suggestion, you both get some independence.
If you think and feel she is worth the effort, work for it. If after a month or however long of trying, she won't budge on doing other activities with you, then it would be time to make a difficult decision.
Good luck with whatever path you choose.

Not really, people get stuck in an alternative social field. Besides the enjoyment of the game this is a big draw for a lot of people. Getting to know people from all over the world is a discovery in some respects for the cultures etc. The sitting down to this becomes a habit which is hard to break, it is reliable. Try another activity and it may not be enjoyed so people come back to games.0 -

you can easily tell if a woman is being avoidant, this is just another dysfunctional relationship due to video games, same things happen to males with [removed]
You're probably correct, I was merely offering my point of view based on the OP's assertion that any attempt to spend time with this girl away from the game led to her "clamming up."
If she does "clam up" when away from the game, there's nothing left in that relationship for either party.0 -
hi im new to playing this game only started to be with my fiancee the game is kind of taken over her life to the point no alone time always talking to her friends in vent and generally not being herself dont get me wrong i love her with all my heart but i get anoyed about hear about the game instead of "hey i love you " anyway this is my Q: how many women in this game would allow the game and there friends to affect the future they agreed to marry and how many would stop when they know there fiancee is unhappy with this issue in there relationship. to me its easy no matter what i do i stop for her i even stopped whilst carrying a 20ft tree when she phoned, i mean i just stood there holding the tree talking away. please leave nice replys hurts this topic as it is b:surrender
Its the way these games are made. they make it addictive so that people want to play. when people are addicticted, their behaviour are'nt normal anymore. this may be the reason why u don't understand her behaviour. u will have to learn the how n why if u want a better understanding.0 -
Have a serious talk with her.
If there is no measured improvement after a week or so, it sounds like it is time to re-roll and get a better class IMHO.
There are many types of jails, don't get locked down in misery.
b:victoryDo you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?
