Hi everyone
I have started up this thread as a forum competiton for lost city server.
Notice to Moderaters and GMs: i am unsure where to put this thread so decided here, please move if it is in the wrong place.

On to the competition.
as the title suggests it is a Story Writing Competiton.
The task is to write a story about one or more of your characters on the lost city server. It can be about anything but must include atleast one ingame character. Each month i will set a topic and will give everyone 2 weeks to write a story and submit it in this thread.I will need 2 or 3 judges so if you are interested please put your name down with your character name.

Prizes
prizes are not 100% confirmed and are subject to change but hopefully they won't.

1st place:
1 mirage celstone and 20k

2nd place:
20k and 5 celstone fragments or 1 of each celstone (prize varies due to avaliability)

3rd place:
10k

January is a trial month to see what the reaction is.

January's theme is:
Tideborn Adventures

Terms and conditions
1.you must be on the lost city server to enter.
2. Your story must be 250 words or more maxumum 750
3.your story must be about the topic selected for the month
4.prizes are subject to change

Competition closes:

25 January Pacific time

Scoring works like this

out of 10 points for:
1.Spelling/Grammar/Punctuation
2.Plot/Storyline

Out of 20 points for:
1.Including elements of PWI

Out of 5 points for:
1.Overall creativity

Total points you can get are 55

all judges and i will mark independantly the work together to decide 1st 2nd and 3rd

    I love the idea, and I'm super glad you're willing to host it.

    That said, I'd REALLY like it if it was an official PWI contest, as well. *kicks spoons*

    I did this at christmas time with my faction on our forums. It was a lot of fun.

    They had to rewrite the poem "twas the night before Christmas" PWI style.

    Secondly they had to just write a Christmas story.

    Could enter each one just once but they could enter both competitions. I gave out lobster mounts to 1 winner of each contest.

    It was amazing what some stuff there was to read! I had lots of fun reading it as well, and I also believe it will bring out the imagination side of people whereas the paint/calendar contest mostly brings out artistic!

    Sounds like a lot of fun! I hope you get a lot of entries!

    I absoloutly love the idea, and if possible, would love to be one of the judges!

    I love anything that has to do with fictional stories and writing. b:pleased

    I'll volunteer to be a judge if you'd like.

    Some suggestions:

    -You should put your Terms and Conditions in the first post by editing it, also with an ending date for submissions.
    -You should put a maximum amount of words on it -- maybe 1000? (250 is the standard amount of words per page, so that gives them ample room to write what they need.)

    Please post your stories here. we need entries.
    you can type them up on Microsoft word or another word processing program and copy and paste the to this thread.
