I hear alot of people saying you have to solo it but I don't see no hint(yes I'm one that read all the quest info says)about that.Now don't get me wrong DW is probably a bad server anyway where the word "help" was never invented.Back on line it's nearly impossible to solo a 1.3 milion hp boss if you're not a veno or barb,so what's this all about is this sht crazy?
So can someone clarify this and please NO cheap talkers I'm in a hate mode already don't need trolls to **** me furthermore.

P.S It'll pass but I'm so pissed by this lvl 100 people that would say anything not to help.I'm saying lvl 100 because when i got to the boss 5 people were killing it and i know atleast one was level 100,CHILI.

its the same as those quest books that give exp and also oracles. They dont say it needs to be soloed but eventually you do find out. Its not hard for a lv 100 yes but it also takes **** long and i can imagine the dmg from that fish isnt....nice for lower lvls too.
But i believe its one of those quests that you have to wait a bit and lvl to finish. Just like Krimson eyes and things like those. Alot of pple think once you get a quest you MUST be able to finish them on time and if they cant, somethings wrong with the game or the pple around them. When i did that fish, i also helped one other person that looked like their in their 80s, and i can say, i used a buttload of mp charm. Even if its pots, its ALOT. I helped dmg it till the HP was still a bit over half, but they did not get the kill. That leads me to believe the quester needs to dmg it at least about 2/3 HP? I think for that boss you need to be at least of a certain lvl and def to ask for help especially from strangers because the cost of helping, is well enough to do a quick TT run.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]lagunal8.deviantart.com

Scuse my stupidy Deceptistar and the fact I talk from an alt(not that would make any difference since my main is only 89)but what's the difference as a robe/la char on soloing a 1.3 mil boss at lvl 73 or 105 you get your **** beaten.And don't come tell me about stupid krimson or jewel or whatever that I've tanked at my level as barb and the fact I still have them with this char.As I said I know you guys like to beetch about it but my question was simple:Where does it says I have to solo it.
I know i get taken away with words when i'm pissed(specially since I was about to joing the guild this people was in-not in this life anymore)but I'll tell it slowly:One thing is a hard boss(Massacra Seben for example)to kill with a squad and another is soloing something.

When I did it. I didn't recall any note on the quest log saying you needed to solo and / or do the most amount of damage on it. To be fair though, i've become a little blaise about reading the accompanying quest notes....
Like you when I initally took it on I was confused as hell about it. I tackled it a few times in squads and got no drop.
A friend started a thread about it too in the Technical help forum:
Fish monster quest near 619,170
Eventually I was lucky and got a cleric to heal me outside of a squad in order to take most of the damage. The folks around helped to finish it off.
The reward is worth it though. 1.2 HP charm (may have had the choice of an MP one too, don't recall).
Find a cleric willing to help you and you'll come through it.

You don't get a choice, it's always HP.
@OP: Do it in a squad if you're so insistent it can be done b:chuckle I'm not in your server and I never heard anything different from soloing it, so it's not just your "unhelpful" servermates (although I agree with Panthalassa, what kind of help do you expect to receive with an ungrateful attitude?).
@Decep: I didn't find 8x that bad to do it. Most of the people I've helped have been 8x+. However, healing for a level 60 BM trying to do half the damage...b:surrender
Like people have said, you don't have to kill it yourself, just do over half the damage. I had my sister (my level cleric) heal me out of squad, and then the people waiting in line DDed at half HP and I got the drop. If you want to try it in a squad, fine. Just don't come QQing back to the forums when you're dropless after spending hours killing it in a squad and getting nothing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

In MMOs there's always going to be people like this, QQing over drops - Expecially the Healers,
Because there's the beefy, can't think with their brains Melee people who think all drops should be theirs since they killed it. - Oh wait? What about the person keeping you Alive? :0
That's why I like other caster types, like Necromancers or Sages/Different MMOs or in this case Venomancer.
So we don't have to worry about that griping or whining that i've seen done so much.
Just ask in your Faction - Considering you are 7x or so, you should be able to get one by then.
Or ask in the World chat, if it ends up being unabused by underage people or FB nonsense or any of that. Good Luck. xD

Okay, so like other people have said, a little bit of patience is a good thing.
But I see so many whining about not being able to tank something themselves, when the quest doesn't let you [theoretically] complete it in squad....seriously guys, go poke the thing. It's really not that bad. Most bosses have both magical and physical attacks. That guy's magical attack hit me for 300-600. And I have horribly underleveled armour, and am LA. Arcane should fare far better. Nothing that I could not use 1 or 2 heals to fix. I am above the level that the quest is given, but it won't kill you to wait a bit either.
YES it is meant to take a long time--look at the reward! A platinum HP charm, relatively free, so of course this won't be like killing a lvl 20 miniboss.
Additionally, bring along some friends. Have them not be in squad with you, and tell them when the boss is below 50% and have them DD their hearts out. Should work just like oracles. HP pots/apoth items are your friends while tanking. A clerics isn't 100% necessary, and spending a bit of money on pots for this quest is not going to hurt considering the reward.
Just some things to consider...everything in this game shouldn't be easy as pie b:surrender0 -
You could ask a higher level to tank/heal out of squad for you. I had a high level barb who tanked the whole time out of squad without doing too much damage so I got the kill, and a high level cleric who helped as well, not to mention the others that were there to deal damage once his HP got down, much thanks Nai, Connor and Aubree b:kiss. I finished it at 79 that way (no way my 57 pet could tank, died in 2 hits b:surrender).

its not that hard really if you just got a good water ress(long range fighting)
or p.def and medium water ress(tanking it from close range)
but i do agree its 1 off those quest you shouldnt do til 8x or maybe higher 7xits impossible to always do the right thing we all make mistakes i am not different from that

Sure posting pissed would only bring back more hate and with the few lucid moments i had tryed to explain i wanted to avoid exactly that.The fact is,as I see most of you are from HT,people in this server are...let's say I'm the good guy compared to them.
As I said my main is/was a barb and I was in what at that time was the biggest guild on DW.I was helping people aroung because you know when you're on the top some tend to hate because of lands etc.Fact is I ended up stoping doing my things because I was getting pms from friends of friends of somebody I've helped.I never said no to nobody and the fact that I finally started saying no makes me beeing the selfish one?When I was a lowbie I always hated that attitude that some showed even here,you know the hey why do it now do it in 20 levels.So that's why when I was doing WQ i was pretty much asking anybody if they needed some boss that was near from book 10 to 16 mostly.Did I ever expected help?Maybe but I never needed it since I was doing my own bosses.I'm not gonna explain what it means to to be a robe because the smartest thing you'll came with is"reroll",which shows how you guys know what it means to put alot into a character the worse and more arrogant thing one can here is reroll.
Whatever turned out into a long post again that will probably miss the point because you brainiacs will only read the first and last line coz to much words makes your brain hurt.
You see that's why I like vent over forums,people can see when I'm sarcastic.

By my count breakdown of different contributors to this thread excluding you are:
Dreamweaver 3
Heavens Tear 3
Lost City 1
Sanctuary 1
This does not take into consideration whether they were trying to be helpful or not.
What I would say regarding my time with this boss, the cleric that helped me along with the people that helped to DD him afterwards, I didn't know any of them at all or particularly well.
The cleric that helped me, they tackled the boss prior to my attempt and I attempted (for my part) to help them by wizzie healing them. I don't know if this cleric felt an obligation to help me or was just a helpful sort of person but they helped when it came to my turn.
I would guess that every server has their good and bad apples. Perhaps you've just been unlucky in that respect.
Am I the most helpful person in Dreamweaver, no. Do I try to help? From time to time.

lol actually you can do it this way if you want
be the first one to hit it and then leave your squad before it dies and ta-da you get the drop
when my sin did it i met a very nice helpful group of level 8x there doing it
lol took a long time to kill it once for each person thou xD0 -

im too lazy to read this whole thread so i dunno if sumone already answered but heres the ANSWER for the OP
u can get AS MUCH help as u want but heres the rules
1.DONT be in a squad at all
2.keep aggro the whole time
other than that a million people can damage it and ull get the quest
when i did it i had a cleric healin me, veno helpin and 2 archer shooting it with snowball launchers haha (all out of squad of course) but i tanked and kept aggro the whole time and i got the drop/quest
im not sayin THIS IS THE ONLY WAY but i know 100% it works0 -
