Axe/Hammer weapon choice.

I have currently had my Handaxes of Demonic roar for 18 levels now (30-48) and am currently waiting to get the level 50 supply stash hammers.
My question is are they actually worth it or should i just wait untill level 60 to upgrade my axe's?

    Just get a good 3* for 50-60. Save that 2.5mil on the hammer for calamities ^^

    Why? a flawless shard, a few near-useless charms, a couple of do-alls and a handful of chips? For the price of a hammer it's not really worth it tbh.

    Sell the handaxes and buy a Gale Dual hammer with the money.
