Hi

My husband has just brought me a Herc for my Birthday!!!b:victory

Now I am wondering the best place to train it, it is Lvl 1.

Am I better to go to starter towns and fight the same lvl as it, or go to a place with lvl 20 or so?

Thx

Ladyangell

Cube levelling works, but is dull.

One thing to do is find the highest level of monster that your noxious gas will 1-shot, find a huge crowd of them, and do that to level your pet up.

The repeat with mobs you can 1-shot with ironwood or lucky scarab.

Then yoir pet should be within ten levels of you and works just fine for normal play, which will get it the rest of the way.

Alternatively, you can pick something you really want the drops from (antelope pups, perhaps) or you can just re-run all the newbie zones for the nostalgia value (I did that, was great fun re-seeing all that stuff.)

After a very few levels the herc has enough hitpoints to survive joining in the fights (living long enough for you to notice aggro has switched and allow you to heal).

Mouse bashing (room 4) is really only particularly useful if you need to kill monsters which are slow to kill. If your herc is, say, level 70 and you still need to grind it up then is when I'd consider the cube.

If you do the mice bashing room, take the lowest level bow from a starter city and a few thousand arrows, it goes way faster that way, especially now that we have the Tab key.

if your accuracy sucks just put the herc on defensive and switch targets even if you miss. then the ones that you miss will come and hit you then get killed by the herc automatically. bow is faster this way lol.

if you decide not to use bow and arrow make sure to unequip your weapon so that you don't have to repair it. the "mice" in room 4 die in 1 hit from a barehanded nuke.

Grats, and Cube Room 4 is the best place to level your Herc by far. It will get extremely boring after a while, but you can't level it faster in any other place than Cube Room 4.
