Is there a better detailed map?

I'm new to this game, as my avatar shows lol, my main problem is finding where to go in order to quest. Is there any map better than the one in game? It shows the major citys, but none of the small ones. I was lvl 10 from grinding before i even found Broken Bridge....and now i have to go to Gate of Antiquity and i have no clue where that is... does anyone have a detailed map? Or could someone edit the regular map and kinda make it a beginner's map for me?
Another question...i was looking at the wiki to try and understand when i can get a mount, it said some require lvl 20 but it costs 30g... is that like 30 in game money, or "zen" we have to buy? if it's zen, how much money does it cost to buy 30gold?

Most quests that require you to go to new areas will give you an autopath option/ name in green. Click on that, then immediately stop your character and open up your map. It will have marked your main map with the location which you can zoom in on.
30 gold is 3000 zen or 30 dollars American.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks for the sig Ophida0 -
Just double right-click the map, then it will enlarge0

If you just click on the map where you want to enlarge it, then you will be able to see details and then click+drag to move around. Alt+click on this map to auto-path to the location that you click on.
Also, this site is very nice to find things that aren't usually labeled, like herbs, mats, and such:

30 dollars for a mount.... so mmuch for this game being free to play, do they have any mounts you can buy with in game currency?
Also, i try using the autopath feature but i end up running into cliffs, or off cliffs nd mountains... i guess barbarian was a bad starting class choice with it's land being so diverse and confusing0 -
Everything in the boutique can be bought with in game coins.I was early taught to work as well as play,

There's an Auction house in game where many players sell gold, but the prices on it right now are fairly steep.
However, mounts in game can be fairly cheap depending on what you buy. They sell spurs that you can use on a mount(well combine with really) at a pet administrator to lower the level requirement to ride one and make the mount's starting speed faster. You have to make sure to get the right spur though, because you can't use a Galewind Spur on a Windsprint Panther, You would have to use an Alacrity spur on it to make it a Swift Jaguar before you could use a Galewind Spur to make it a Quick Jaguar.
.... Sounds more confusing than it is really; but I hope that helped somewhat.
EDIT: Also, players tend to sell mounts and stuff; can range anywhere from 1mill to 4mill so just take a peek around, you are bound to find something better than the NPC horses.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
When Saukey decides she can swim, I know I didn't get the DC pop-up again. Wish she swam when it matters.0 -
ok, thanks everyone, i really appreciate it, i guess imma go mountless for a while, 1-5million sounds impossible to make, i'm broke as is just buyin armor, and i can't pay for zen while saving for my real life wedding, good thing tigers are fast lol. Thanks again everyone.
and seeing all the levels on the replies... i have more work cut out for me to seem less nooby lol0 -
I'm using only the free mounts and gear. I bought lvl 30, 5gold with the coin I've been saving. my barbarian is lvl 20 and has 105,000 coins. it's possible if you really try.
my psychic (not my avi psy, my other one) is level 27 and has 175,000 coins.0 -
Don't worry about land mounts for now as it's too early to get a land mount in the game (although it does make things faster). The location for the quests you have right now are closer than you think.
Also, at your 30th level, PvP (player vs. player) will be enabled as you are in a PvP server. So in case you're not interested in that, play a PvE server instead. I'm just saying this because a lot of people make mistakes with what server they want to be in.
Anyways, welcome to PW! b:pleased[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You can also get mounts by doing the dragon quests.0

uhh, i'm in Lost City, i'm hoping that's not pvp..i hate doing pvp it just seems like every city is 30minutes away... takes so long lol0
-
Lol, you'll have a fun time at 30. Lost City isn't only just a PvP server, it is THE PvP server. Roll on Heaven's Tear, it's PvE and it's 10 points awesomer because I have my characters on there.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

the maps are so small and undetailed i can't even find one unless by chance.
Is there no way to turn off pvp? i've worked on thi character for days, i dont want to just give up on him0 -
Up near your mini map is a button called Coordinates Assistant. If you click it it will bring up a list of NPC's near you. All the towns have a teleport master in them, they will be a female NPC wearing red clothing. If you push M and then click the map where you're at, it will zoom in so you can actually see the towns around you.
And on Lost City and Harshlands servers, you can't turn PVP off. Once you hit lvl 30 anyone can kill you after that. Dreamweaver is a nice PVE server. And the levels you've already gotten should go faster your second time through if you switch.
edit: Here is a really nice map you can use out of the game if you wanted.

thanks... atleast someone told me it was pvp before i got to 30, pvp is the reason i quit my old mmo >.< so what's the best pve server? and by best i mean, which is the most noob friendly lol0 -
I only played on Sanctuary for a few days, Dreamweaver has been my only server since it opened, and it's pretty nice I think. Raging Tide is the newest server, released with the expansion. I'm sure someone else would know better which would be best though. b:surrender If you do choose Dreamweaver I'm usually on my main Toxic so feel free to whisper me if you have any questions.0
-
I don't know about the other servers, but Dreamweaver has been nice for me. Lots of high levels there to help kill bosses, especially if you join a nice helpful faction.
On the other hand, you could try the Raging Tide server, which is pretty new, so there'll be a lot more low level people there.
Both of those are PvE servers, so you don't have to worry about PK being automatically enabled at level 30.
Really though, you might want to check the ping times on the servers and look for the PvE server with the lowest ping time, since that will mean less lag when playing. Dreamweaver and Raging Tide are both East Coast servers, so if you're on the West Coast you should probably use a West Coast server instead.
Good luck and have fun! b:pleased0 -
I personally find HT (Heaven's Tear) awesome, as it's debatedly the most populated server, though whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you. For me, it's a great thing as more people = easier to find squads. Also, a large factor is which timezone/where you live. HT and Sanc are the west coast PvE servers, while DW (Dreamweaver) and RT (Raging Tide) are the east coast PvE servers.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Also, you mentioned that you were grinding until you found the next village. Now that you know where stuff is, you can find the quests and lvling will be much easier.
*edit: you probably know this by now...I didn't think to look at the date of the posts, so, I hope you're enjoying whatever server you chose.0 -
