Can clerics kill ?

So I have a cleric (lvl 85). So the cleric I've leveled always through parties just as a support but recently I've grinded for exp. However it's killing abilities stink..all the other classes could kill them way easier...am i just using the skills wrong? Also, no it's not an equipment issue...

    Every class should be able to kill at a decent pace. And you've levelled all the way to 85 in a party? Sounds questionable...

    Well I don't have the experience of a level 85 character XD My old cleric was in the 30's...But I can say it wouldn't be very fair if we could kill as well as a DD like a Wizard AND have all the heals and buff/debuffs right? We're in the same boat as Barbs...We gain a huge advantage in parties for slower solo abilities...

    I would like to know how we kill compared to other classes in the higher levels though...I'll wait and hope some more experienced clerics post info on it ^.^

    yes they can kill mobs... You just got to know how to order the moves you use. Cyclone has a slow effect to give you more time to hit the mob before it reaches its range of hitting you. If its magic its a piece of cake as it does nothing but tickle you.

    Have you been leveling your non-chi attacking skills such as plume shot, great cyclone, and wield thunder?

    Clerics kill just fine going solo and in fact are not a bad solo class if you were to choose. We have plenty of skills that allow us to live. You just have to know how to handle each mob and those with any add-ons (ie - mag. resist). Psychical mobs can give clerics a hard time, but that is what Plume shell and iron heart is for.

    At level 85 you get a large amount of physical mob quests. b:surrender Also, I agree with Nowitsawn, rather questionable...

    wow 85 lvls of support x-x ive solod everything in this game besides quests/boss's that needs a party,

    I always keep my hp charms longer on my clerics XD Still 6k left at 19...

    As a cleric i've found grinding to be extremely easy compared to my bm. But then again I have to factor in the fact that this is my second character. Anyways...here is a post by my bm about a cleric in our guild.

    Lennson was a very good cleric battle/support he did both supremely well. I hope he doesn't mind me using his stuff. Haven't seen him in awhile. But as you can see he is only level 85. You can AoE grind at some earlier levels too.

    Clerics are pretty ownage.

    Considering at least 1/2-2/3s (too lazy to check and do the proper math) of our skills are dedicated to increased survivability and support, I'd say Clerics do pretty well with decent gear and up-to-date attacks (the basics at least).

    I can't speak for higher levels, but at only level 45 I could solo Chin the Mausoleum Watchman, a lvl 45 boss who stomps around Shattered Jade Shore, without much issue. I was spamming Plume Shot, Iron heart and MP meds (Apothecary skill is great!). I even did it a second time to help out two players in need of the kill.

    To me, at least, that says that clerics have more than enough solo potential to tackle a large variety of opponents. I've soloed a lot of grinding quests and done my fair share of damage in party settings as well, though never at the cost of healing those who need it.

    I'm far from invulnerable, but it's hard not to feel somewhat formidable when you can tackle enemies others shy away from. Anyone at level 85 should have far less troubles than even I do...

    wait wait....how did you lvl up to lv85. unless you partied for EVERY SINGLE KILL 24/7 for a measly 1/2 or 1/3 exp compared to solo. question starts there

    As full mag(YES ||FULL MAG|| no vit, no dex, str for weapon/armor and rest into MAG) I can ealsy grind on mobs on my lvl, I have them on 2-5 hits(depends on element), I have a lot of mana so I can grind longer without break and I'm taking less mag dmg. I like to be DD and I think I can do this pretty good but ppl always will except us clerics to heal/ress/purify then to DD. b:sad SO! If ppl want us as healers/buffers I can't disagree with them! till 90 lvl >D

    Pve, YES. The heals, natural mp regen, and buffs make clerics much better a soloing than you think. Pvp, Just as good as other characters if you use it right. You should be able to keep melee classes back long enough to kill (except for us sins b/c we are sneaky b:laugh) and as far as other classes....
    Wizard: yes as long as you are buffed you have a chance
    Archers:You will have some trouble
    Psys:Depends on if they just try to nuke you or debuff you first. But you should pose a good threat to them though
    Venos:Depends on the pet but....good luck w/ them!
    But the incredible buffs and heals will keep you balanced with the other classes.(I seen a lvl 6X cleric pk a 7X barb easily. Invest in holy path b:victory)

    How can a lv85 have trouble soloing any mob??
    Oh well now days i am really not surprised with anything really when concerning clerics >_<!

    I've always had plenty of luck going solo as a Cleric. Make sure your heals are maxed and you've got at least decent armor for your level, the rest is cake.

    You should have no problem aoe'ing chipmunq gluttons in the area of village of oppressed.
    Make sure you have purify(I'm hoping you know what this is), your ironheart maxed and have razor feathers.

    Not many people grinded on those so you can pull as many mobs as you can handle in 1 pull.

    But i miss Petali (or how ever you spell it) mobs, they had nice simple stack. All of other poison mobs kinda go for a over kill from 500dmg to 2.2k dmg b:laugh...

    lol, yes im charmed, but it never touched the hp one. and as far as the genie, look at the stamina, its like 124. i can only use like 1 a minute (and tree of protection is useless at my genie's skill lvl).

    Nice Nelae,

    If you got lots of wood resist (or alot of hp with lot of healing power) I would suggest you to leave Cadevils and try Chipmung Gluttons as one of the posts above says. Their mp drain is bad if you just solo grind and Chipmungs got much better drops.

    Cadevils are good when there is double exp event and you aoe grind with someone who helps you do the dmg. There is few places with lots of cadevils, that enables you to gather mobs fast.... they still drop junk, not like Chipmungs.

    The thing is in gathering more than 15 Gluttons or so. Which can be hard at your level. If you can gather and kill 20+ then the drop rate gets pretty good.

    Just so you see that Cadevils stink is some ways. But they are good ~8k exp per 3 min when there is 2x exp event.

    I agree^^ i have no tourble solo mobs, but bosses are somthing different... We as cleric can heal ourselves before, during, after the fight so therefore we can always solo... you just got to know how to kill...
