Hi all,
in the website -Edited due to forum rules- of perfect world entertainment, on right i see a box showing all of their games.

On number 7 i see Perfect World II, probably the one we are all playing, cause whe i go to its website there is the tibeborn expansion stuff and so on.

But on number 9 i see a Perfect World... When i go to its website and look to some screenshots (both PWII and PW sites are in chinese) it looks like the exact same version of Perfect World II to me. b:surrender

So can everybody explain to me the differences between those versions?

Thanx in advance. b:victory

p.s.

if i posted this in the wrong section feel free to move b:laugh

PW1 was pay to play. It was discontinued, and the Chinese PW that exists now is PW2.

PW1 no longer exists AFAIK. They replaced it with the version that we have now.

    Ok thx b:laugh

I was reading on wikipedia...They removed A LOT of pwi interesting and unique characteristcs...The main is the buildin, and we all know that, but there other minor things that could have made this game a lot more enjoyable, something like the ultimate free to play experience IMHO b:pleased

I still consider perfect world the best of f2p though b:laugh

Perfect world 1 is still open and is p2p with no item mall and the housing system implemented.
I have the client and account for it myself.

It has different interfaces and login screens etc (i mean different to the one before tideborn). it also made use of the firework npc and avation npc which are disused in pw2.

pw1 was only released in china and still is.

I started looking at the other versions of perfect world when i saw it mentioned that they might have the full christmas implementation. So, which version of perfect world is the most complete? China, Malaysia, Europe or international?

China passed some sort of legislation that made the selling of virtual goods illegal.

edit** Wait... how is PW-CN still running then? <.<

I can't find the original thread that was discussing it (probably because it technically deals with another game and it was deleted and dumped in the GM-only zone), but I believe it was said that having the optional payments was fine, just not the pay-to-play.

They might also get a percentage of profits from the other PW branches. Sometimes that's included in the copyright agreement.

Ok small lesson in PW. PWI is owned by PWE, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Beijing (China) Perfect World. All the other versions however (MY, PH, MS, etc etc) are licensed versions and need to buy patches & updates from Beijing Perfect World. In that manner they often chose not to. The infamous account dissappearances over Etherblade Lake half a year ago was an over month long bug in MY. They are often more glitchy and buggy (hard to believe) then PW China or PWI.

To answer the question, China is the mother version & most complete. PWI is a very very close second as we get things only breifly after their china release. The rest fall farther behind by varying degrees due to needing to actually buy updates.

    1 gold = 1 dollar

The purpose of that law is to enforce the need of companies to register with the "virtue office" in China, and to allow the government to monitor and censor any content they deam offensive, this applies to any person or company hosting a game server of any kind. The example they gave were companies that operate servers for profit without the proper permits from the Chinese government.

Pretty much this is a HUGE blow to private servers, since those, for all purpose, become targets for the government, since those servers were not paying the government the big dollars needed to get the permits to operate.
