Not long ago I upgraded my OS to windows7. Afterwards PWI needed a massive update (seriously it took over 10hrs) I dont know if this was due to the new OS or the Rising Tide expansion. After the updates finished When I clicked start I recieved the message "could not launch game". My spyware had deleted the elementclient.exe so following the advice in some of the forums I manually installed the elementclient.exe told my spyware to allow it and created exceptions in my firewall for the elementclient.exe, launcher.exe, patcher.exe and pwprotector.exe. Now when I launch PWI the screen goes black and the mouse changes as if to start the game but after a few seconds everything returns to normal and I get this bizzar message (that I assume is an error message) that I cannot read.

Please if anyone can help me get the game running, I'm desperate.

YES someone answer this, I have version 236 and I get this message after trying to load the game

    2yo9vsm.jpg

which comes after a weird freaky text message as the above user mentioned.. :S!

btw this screenshot wasn't easy to get cause that popup disappears after a split-second...

Have any of you two tried to reinstall the game and then manual patching only?

(btw I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits myself without any issue.)
I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.
Assuming I speak for others is therefor void.

    1) I have reinstalled PWI once but not with manual patch however I am leary of repeating the process as it takes me upwards of 10hrs just to install. Ideally I would like to find a solution that doesn't take quite that long but I am willing to try it if I can't find anything else.

    2) What do you mean by verifying? The only thing I can think of is when I start the launcher it says verifying files, checking for updates and then changes the update button to a start button. Do you mean this or something else?

Sorry, I found the verify button (staring me in the face). I'm trying that out right now and will post the results later
