Hi, i dont wanna pay when i get the later lvls. Do i have to to be good in this game? If we must i quit!

    No you dont have to pay BUT being on a PvP server you will have to find other ways to make money (catshopping etc) to be able to compete with those who do spend $.
    Its hard work but possible.

    Paying does help Im not going to deny that. BUT just about everything you find in the game store you can find in a catshop. So if you have the time to grind and make the money through selling stuff with the cat shops or the auction then you will do just fine. Good luck and don't give up. You are at a low lvl. Give it time.

    You dont need money to be good however, if u want to keep up with CS gear and stuff u need to pay.

    You can be good at high levels, you can even be competitive in PvP without spending a single cent IF you're prepared work for it.

    Fact is, nothing will come for free or cheap and you will have to spend a good amount of time farming and playing the market. This game is not designed so that you can level to 90 and run around in high-end gear in like 3 weeks of playing without spending money. So you better be prepared to work for it.

    I don't wanna burst your bubble, there will be s small percentage of players you will not be able to compete with (PvP particularly) due to the obscene amount of money some spend on this game, however you will be able to do fine or even great in comparison to the vast majority of players out there.

    Yes, the game is designed that way as well, but we're talking about how you can fare without.

    Anyways, you can be great without even paying a dime to play this game! Like for me, all I buy from the Boutique is clothes, teleacoustics, etc.

    Just make sure you save up the drops monsters give you and sell it to NPCs or in catshop mode like others have said previously. I recommend you start doing manufacturing so you can make your own armor, weapons, etc.

    So yeah. Unless you just want to master this game as fast as you can for the fun of it, you don't have to even get gold. b:chuckle Play for the fun of it, not the competition! b:pleased

    yes it is possible to get to a high lvl with decent gear without spending a dime. but if you really want to not spend any money I'd recommend you switch to a pve server. they are alot easier to play without spending money.

    Not necessarily, right now you have to spend a lot of money into Raging Tide to level or else you can't catch up. Elsewise you just have to level up super fast b:surrender

    Unless you fancy spending 90% of your gaming life marketing and buy/selling and burning large amounts of power keeping overnight catshops...no. Best advice, don't play to be the best, you can work hard as hell for years and mr.cashshop will walk in and beat you in a month with his credit card and +12 tt99 uber-gear.

    Heh... Being a merchant isn't THAT hard. It takes maybe 20mins per day, and the laptop I use to keep my catshop going only uses about 50watts of power.

    However, I do agree that if somebody wants to be the best, then they're probably going to have to pay to keep up. If you play to be good, or even excellent, but not the best, then you don't need to spend a dime.

    I guess. AH is kinda awesome for that. Made a few mil a few days ago, buying gold, making tomes and selling them off at 2-300k profit because every other seller there insisted on selling for a minimum 800k over the making-from-scratch price.
    Same with things like flawless citrines and high-mats for wines. For some strange reason sometimes merchants refuse to compete with each other... makes for extremely easy profit if you take advantage.

    And yeh, I admit that takes mebbe 20 minutes a day and the occassional overnight catshop. But even so, it will still take you many weeks and months to accumulate an amount of money a cash shopper can gain in 5 minutes. b:surrender

    you turn purple when you get attacked (the first stage in PK mode) you have a chance of dropping things reguardless

    You're right that a cash-shopper can jump right ahead very quickly.

    When I started a character on a new server I was able to generate 4mill from scratch in about 2 1/2 weeks of casual 15min per-day trading. But that would have only cost a cash-shopper about $10 at the time.

    I guess for me I find the merchanting aspect of the game pretty fun by itself. I've always enjoyed trading-based board/computer games, and PWI lets me do that. But I understand when there are players who don't like trading-type games, and would rather just spend a little to skip to the parts they find more fun.

    I think there's only really a problem for players who want to be the best, because then they are competing with some people who might have some very deep pockets. I don't personally begrudge players who might be millionaires in real life and be willing and able to spend $500 or more per month on the game, but I do know that such players drive some of their more jealous competitors insane. b:chuckle

    um no....if ur white named u dont drop ANYTHING...and if u dont hit back u dont even turn pink...and EVEN if ur pink u dont drop ANYTHING....and if for any reason U DO, then the chances are VERY slim..because ive NEVER dropped anything being pink named....u might be thinking of LIGHT RED which i thought was the same as pink the first time that happened to me

    but again YOU DO NOT DROP anything if uget PKed...and uve never killed anyone b4

    You have to pay or syou will get own by all cash shoppers with +10 weapons, u will get 1-2shot by wizard
