Invisible players, ones named P-233944 (random names)

Is there a reason this is happening? It seems to not be happening to anyone else, since I see no complaints (and my questions about it in common chat elicit no responses).

I can see faction names of people, but no person, and no name.

My settings are all maxxed, including distances. Some people are visible, but many more are not, ones right next to me included.

I've logged in and logged out several times now. Nothing is working.

    This is normal for most people when quickly entering an area with lots of players (mostly by logging in West Arch). You'll have to run out until they're all out of range and then come back so you'll reload all the character data at a slower rate.

    i had this problem to Q_Q
    go to system> UI and under proxy visuals you see two switches
    distance and effects....pull the distance to the + and it will be fixed it worked for meh :D
