PWI gives levels away for free! You don't even need oracles now!

... Heh. I probably won't be one of those lucky five, but come on, seriously? Five people, at random, get given five free levels? It's bad enough you guys sell levels in the form of oracles, must you really give them away?
Although that said I'm sure for some it's a great incentive to get people to join Facebook and become a fan of PW.

I'm not complaining, I just find it ironic we all say PWI are practically giving away levels with oracles... and then this. =3 T'is amusing.

I just want the 2x EXP. And... I'm curious about this "Barbarian statue". Since I'm terribly lazy, anybody who knows a bit more about this statue mathing care to share? =0

    HA! Bet the L100-102s aren't squealing quite so much. Reaching the cap means nothing other than getting there first. Besides, they won't level a player over the cap, so the 101s and 102s are just S.O.L. Given the chance, I would probably put those levels towards my main, then again... I might put them to my cleric. Either way, it's only five players.

    Wow...I would love to get 5 free levels...but that's because I level so slowly.

    Anyhow, it could be worse. This means that Perfect World International gets more attention, which means more ad revenue from facebook, and less time with sales. More events for us. Little side projects like this could be what PWI needs to get back into the normal event game instead of just throwing us a sale every week or so.
    I shall dominate the Dreamweaver server through the use of Baked goods...and only baked goods.^^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

    I am shocked! Shocked! Well, ok, not that shocked.

    But, seriously, 5 free levels? I...I'm just speechless. When they brought back the anniversary packs for the third time, I thought they couldn't sink any lower. Now, we get another anniversary AND 5 free levels? Is PWI having a financial meltdown and being shut down and they're just not telling us, or what?

    Tell me which gods we need to start sacrificing virgins to in order to get this game back on track.

    Edit: Honestly, who uses facebook anyway? Aside from pedophiles and stalkers, I mean.

    Me, I'm a fan of Twitter. All it is to me is an extension without changing sites. So facebook is awesome.

    As for the OP: I don't like the idea... Give the top 15 people the Statue. And that'll be great enough.

    I don't use facebook because of the severe lack of security they have. The issue with them laying claim to everything you post in perpetuity and that you give up all rights to any compensation from them for how they might use it. The issues they have had of using pictures from users profiles and groups for advertisements etc.

    I write a lot of short stories, poetry, art, make programs etc. I am not going to give up my legal and intellectual rights to my work just because I share it with friends on a social networking site with **** poor security procedures, and that is a hackers paradise. Trust me here, facebook and MySpace etc have more issues with account stealing, and malware installation on computers than they would like to admit to. One survey of MySpace pages showed that out of 3000 pages they went too.. 2700+ were infected by malware of one kind or another.

    Well, speaking for myself, I wasn't exaggerating. =) I even said I wasn't really complaining - I only made the thread to point out how very ironic it was that, with the oracle sale many people said PWI was practically giving levels away.
    Now, they are.

    That's all I was doing. xD

    This aside, yes only 5 people are going to get those 5 levels. I never really had an issue with this - if PWI wants to market itself by doing that then let them. It's not my problem.

    Also, why would we complain about a 2x week? D8 Perish the thought, I love those weeks. I only wish we had them more often. =< I like my TT drops and my EXP. =3

    no since this be a limit of 5 levels. this just happens once to....5 people...and that be 5 people from EVERY server so....it could just be only 1 if not 0 people get it in me server.

    5 free levels..

    I'm going to be pissed if a handful of 60's and 70's get them.

    I don't know if a level 100 will be lucky enough, but it would be fun to see a 105 running around. But more then likely its just going to be 5 lowbies who could probablly get those 5 levels in a week of grinding.

    I dunno, the 2x weeks thing only works if people actually work for it. Just means you gotta go out, do quests or do TTs, grind, do whatever to actually get the 2x drops/exp.
    so its not so terrible, not like you can throw in a couple dollars to get the drops or exp from the two weeks. (well you could do it any day if you wanted to be esos/fruit/whatever or buy the items from AH but like I said, that's buying them rather than working for them)

    They can give us free levels, but not a Christmas event. They even have events for minor holidays, but nothing for the so-called "most wonderful time of the year."

    Also, did anyone else notice the "assembly required" on the barb statues? This is going to spell disaster for the winners who are not the model-building sort of crafty. o_o

    If it's 5 inches tall and made out of cheap, unpainted plastic, I will kick someone in the teeth. Besides, a cuddly barb plushie would be cooler. >.>
