Tideform Suggestions: Embrace, Appearance, Skills

1st Suggestion: Tideform Embrace
Alright, so...Barbarians while transformed can carry any female character on their back (including Fox form Venos...which is cute...), but Tideborn transformation can't carry -anything-. There's no embrace function at all for them, which is not cool...
Tideborns are incredibly fast in the water and this is a very valid substitute for flying over water. I don't see how a male tideborn can't carry anyone during their transformation...
I can already picture it now...Cradling a female character in their arms while swimming underwater... If you guys are trying to go for romanticism, this is a damn good idea...Not to mention, it'll make the game more complete. Not fair for us Tideborns that we can't hold our wives and/or be cuddled by our husbands underwater.
Here's my suggestions for animations....
1. Typical "cradle in arms" anim...probably the easiest to implement.
2. Female's arms wrapped around male's neck and legs wrapped around his abdomen. Basically a tight hug as he's swimming.
3. Female's arms wrapped around male's neck from behind with her feet kicking while he's swimming. Seeing as females in this game are normally very petite, this anim would fit nicely.
4. Number 2, only from the back instead of the front.
For Veno's fox form, I'd say "cradle in arms" anim.
2nd Suggestion: Tideborn transformations should mirror their character's appearance.
I doubt this'll be implemented because it hasn't been for the Barbs or Venos....but don't you think it's odd that your character, who's skin is more than likely somewhat purplish gray...would suddenly become pale skinned when they transform? I'm not a blonde-haired-blue-eyed-devil...So why am I transformed into one? Not sure how hard it is to implement, but it'd be nice to keep my skin pigment and hair color at least.
3rd Suggestion: Let Tideborn transformations use their SKILLS!!!!
...Either that, or give Tideborn Transformation specific skills as well. It makes no sense that an all powerful Psychic becomes a wuss in the water. These guys are TIDEBORNS.... They live in the water, fight in the water, kill in the water...This makes absolutely no sense! Tideborn assassins should be given their skills underwater, and so should Psychics. Doesn't have to be EVERY skill...but come on, it's ridiculously hypocritical. Their story and history tells us that they are deadly and masters within water....But ingame, they simply swim fast.
And those are my suggestions. Everything else so far has been fantastic. keep up the good work guys.

For number 1: while I don't necessarily disagree, I can kinda see why people can't be carried while in Tideform. This is that nobody can be carried underwater by anyone, regardless of class. So, unless everyone can use the embrace feature underwater, I don't see why Tideborn should be able to while transformed.
For number 2: I'm kinda indifferent about this one really. On the one hand, it does make some sense that the Tideborn would keep some features while transforming, that could be really hard to do. Like you said, it's like the Untamed trueforms, so there must be some kind of logic to it.
For number 3: This is the one that I can agree with fully. For an underwater race not to be able to do much of anything while underwater unless they're like everyone else doesn't make much sense. While maybe they don't have the normal skills, a different set of skills could be used just as well.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Be nice to people0 -

I understand your meaning, but when it comes to all the other races, none of them have any real extra ability underwater other than the beastkind's swimming mastery. But think of it this way: Beastkind's transformations can be used -anywhere-....Land, sea, air...while the tideborn can only use theirs under water (I'm not arguing about that, I agree with this limitation because it's uh....odd...to have a mermaid/man writhing about on land/air wouldn't it? b:laugh). Heck, there are many out there that create fox form/beast form only characters. That option is obviously not there for Tideborn. So giving them an extra ability that no one else has - carrying others under water - would be a nice touch...It's not game breaking, not overpowered to other classes... Just an extra addition that fits perfectly well to them, and lessens the impact on the limitation of only being able to transform in water.Lairian - Sanctuary wrote: »For number 2: I'm kinda indifferent about this one really. I don't think it'd be harder to impliment than the beastkind's transformations. Barbs and Venos would have to have full on animal forms added to the game.... Venos: Felines, Deer, Rabbit, Bat... Barbs: Wolves, Pandas, Lions... Whereas Tideborn simply need to have their forms color-changeable. Don't see the big deal really...Lairian - Sanctuary wrote: »For number 3: This is the one that I can agree with fully. Indeed. As stated earlier, it's hypocritical to have such a powerful underwater race lore-wise be hindered so weak underwater. Hell, they should be much stronger! Not just def wise, but true powerhouses in the water...WITH skills as well (without too much imbalance of course).0 -
what Lairian said. nobody can carry anybody underwater, regardless which form they're in.0

Just because you're a venomancer doesn't make you special either. Simply put: It's not fair for beastkind to have forms that can carry people, while Tideborns can't. What's so wrong with having an open mind to other character classes? If a barb carries anyone, they increase the person they're carrying's movement speed on land. If a winged elf carries someone, they increase the person they're carrying's movement speed in the air.
So why can't tideborns carry people and increase that person's movement speed in water? Give a valid rebuttal please.0 -

I cant carry people in foxform. I'm Beastkind. Be more Specific.
Any class 30+ increases someones speed in air, level up?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Seeing as it's common knowledge that female characters can't carry anyone using the embrace function, it's -obvious- that I was speaking about Barbarians. Not only that, I even pointed that out in my post by giving the example of different races giving speed boosts during Embrace. See the word "Barbs" in that post? That means "Barbarians". Maybe if you weren't so close minded, you'd actually read said post correctly.
As for your whole "any class 30+" deal, that's not a valid rebuttal at all. You say -ANY- class, which means -EVERY- class can do that, while only Barbarians (a.k.a., the male equation of Beastkind, since you seem to need someone to spell it out for you) can carry people on their back long distances on land, providing a nice speed boost BEFORE level 30.
As stated earlier... Beastkind give boosts on land, Winged Elves give boosts in the air. Tideborns should be able to give boosts in water. Simple as that.
Name one reason, one reason at all why this is not a good idea. And while you're at it, tell me just one way how having Tideborns carry people in water could be considered overpowering their ALREADY lacking Tideforms.

Your suggested animations sound like some of them (2. and it's reversal) would potentially look like... humping. Which I definitely do not want to see. There's also the issue of Tideborn x Tideborn hugs. But really, it's not a major part of the game, so there's no reason for it to matter so much.
And yes, if Tideborne get the underwater embrace, that would require that the others do, otherwise you would get some massive complaints.
2nd Suggestion: Tideborn transformations should mirror their character's appearance.

The skin colour changes because it's a transformation? Who says it cannot do that?3rd Suggestion: Let Tideborn transformations use their SKILLS!!!!

Now this kinda makes sense. I wouldn't know as I have yet to play a Tideborn. If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.
Everyone wants to be different, but when you're different you wish you were normal.0 -

Being a Winged Elf doesn't give any kind of speed boosts in the air. The only thing we get is wings at lvl 1. It still takes time to get them to the max speed of +2 m/s though. If we use CS wings, we move the exact same speed as everyone else, since the flight mastery only affects the Natural Elven Wings. Just saying to clear that up a bit.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thank God someone brought this up. I don't know how the most powerful water class could be made useless in their Tideborn forms. I mean if they were practically born in the water you'd think they could fight in the water, with skills, in their Tideborn form. This should be seriously considered as an update because as of right now they certainly aren't a very powerful class while in the "water form."[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=968287001[/SIGPIC]

I agree with the third point. What's the point of having a water race that can't do much in water? Psychics are a little luckier then 'sins because of our def level buff, other then that, we can't do much better. Hopefully they will allow Tideborn to have skills underwater in Tide From.0
