However, if Perfect world entertainment is a public company, which i suspect it is. Ie its stocks are stated on a stock exchange(chinese?) they legally have to make their financial information available for public viewing, such as me or you.

Therefore if anyone puts a bit of time into it im sure it could be found :D

because i among many would like to see PWI's profit

Located on this page: http://www.pwrd.com/html/en/index.html are several outlines of financial gains and situations for the company as a whole.

This one here: http://www.pwrd.com/html/en/11_16_en_final.pdf is the latest one that's been released, and refers to the 3rd quarter of this year. You'll need adobe reader to be able to view it.

So yeah, information like this is publicly available on their company website.

Gamasutra is a game developers' resource site. It says PWE has 40 employees. Most tech companies have about $500k-$800k revenue per employee. I leave the rest of the math up to you.

First, the share prices (i.e. $40 for PWRD and $11 for ATVI) are completely meaningless, so ignore that.

    Now, the good parts:

Market cap - how much the company is worth if you want to buy the whole company
    PWRD: 2.01 Billion
    ATVI: 14.03 Billion

Revenue - how much sales they made
    PWRD: 86 Million from 7/1/09 to 9/30/09
    ATVI: 703 Million from 7/1/09 to 9/30/09

Income - how much profit they made (i.e. after paying for developers etc)
    PWRD: 42 million from 7/1/09 to 9/30/09
    ATVI: 15 million from 7/1/09 to 9/30/09

So basically, Perfect World is highly profitable, but tiny compared to Activision Blizzard.

p.s. I should note that this is not how much this PWI game is making. Perfect World has other games and other regions. Same with Activision.

With not that much effort I had already managed to find the filing of the same document here-->

    http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1403849/000119312509234815/d6k.htm

(hope its ok to post that, don't see why not) Being a publicly traded company, its never hard to find the figures you'd like to see with a little digging.

It actually fairly interesting reading and I am actually quite surprised by a few of those numbers... actually lower that what I had thought they might be...
