well guys, ive tried google and nintendo and stuff, and they are no help at all
i figured id try my luck here, cuz i dont know where else to go

I have wireless internet, with a password
i know the password, but not the wep key
i need the key to use internet on my ds
i tried google, but didnt get anything usefull

    This question really doesn't belong on the tech. support forum here, but I'll answer your question.

    You need to check your router's IP address -- on your computer, click Run > cmd, and on the Command Prompt that opens, type "ipconfig". There should be an IP address like 192.168.1.97 for instance -- mine is 192.168.15.244 -- whatever the third number is (15 for me), you need to open Internet Explorer and go to the gateway IP, which is the first three numbers followed by .1 -- 192.168.15.1 for me -- and log in to your router. By default, your username and password is "admin" and "admin" for both -- google your router model to find out what the default is if it doesn't work -- but you may have changed it, so log in either way.

    There should be a wireless tab/link somewhere on that router's page, and on that page somewhere should be where your WEP key is. Personally, I suggest -- if you know how to work with routing/networking -- you switch to WPA, which is actually more secure but can use a more simple password, such as "roflcopter" which is much easier to remember. But that's up to you.

    Oh, alright, I didn't know about that. Definitely stick to WEP then... The DSi as well as PSP both support WPA, but I guess Nintendo didn't think it would be a necessity to include the most stable encryption format at the time of the original DS' release.

    Hopefully you figure it out. This site lists several models, if you need a reliable source.
