leveling mounts?

ok, I'm completely stumped.. how do you level your riding mounts?

    ...I'm a fair newb...what is the point of lvling the mount?
    I got one and it seems like the it lvls according to the distance travelled...

    I know you just make them go faster by buying spurs from the Boutique shop.
    (The spurs also decrease the lvl you need to be in order to ride a mount! *for those who didn't know)

    Nah, you definitely can level your mount up just by sitting on it. The level maxes out at 11, at which point your mount will travel 1 m/s faster than its base speed.

    Oh, someone got there first.

    Yes, you just have to be riding your mount for it to gain XP.

    It gains XP slowly and irregularly, but after three or four hours it should level 11 (the maximum)

    Make sure you feed it to keep its loyalty up, like any other pet.

    or go to sleep and sit there on your mount, best and easiest if you have a tome

    then why does it have an XP rating at level 11? 8shrugs* least I know I maxed it

    Well you dont have to feed them but if you dont youll get dumped off as soon as something hit you.

    Feed it and just stand in one spot. You can ride it around but it isn't necessary. At a certain point it will stop leveling, which means either it's maxed or you need to feed it more.
