Possible Builds... which one are you using?

The psychic builds initially will be similar to Mage builds. With that in mind, I've determined 3 models to follow to create a decent Psychic.

Pure Magic: 9 magic, 1 str every 2 levels.

Vitality build: 7 magic, 1 str, 2 vit every 2 levels.

Light Armor build: 3 magic, 1 str, 1 dex every level.

I myself am going with a Pure build. How about you?

I'd like to add some things:

Psychic has the best potential for "mixing up" their armor choice with their +50 atk/+50 def level buffs. Does that play in as a factor at all?

IE; I like being a semi-tank, but also DDing. LA+Atk buff + crit rate = pwnage?

Or is it more: I want to hit like a truck, but also not die much, so Pure+Def buff FTW?

Get creative and post some possible builds I may have overlooked here! :D

This one. Squishy but hits like a bag of bricks to the face.

pure or 2 vit per 2 levels should be the only way to go.
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

I think ill go 3 MAG, 1 VIT and 1 STR (for armors cause they take a little amount of STR)

so it would do 6 MAG , 2 VIT and 2 STR for each 2 lvls

That's too much str. for robes. You can cut one str out and add it to vit or magic. :D

Honestly, because of the two skills affecting atk and def lvl, I don't think non-pures will be as good outside specialized roles possibly.

If you need the defense, you can go pure and stick to the Def boost skill for a 36% reduction in attack while gaining 54% defense against phys and mag damage. That will protect better than LA or vit in mid- and end-game easily. But this also allows you to flip around and deal high damage either without the buff, or with the ATK level buff to get an extra 22 ATK lvl.

Pretty much seems you just need to max ATK buff, and leave DEF buff at lvl 1. Will have to see if the game matches the information we have when it comes out.
Fist are the worst at PvP AND PvE, if you disagree, as I said, take it to PM's or make your own guide. Go here if you want to debate about it. - Lyndura

Get a High lvl Fist warrior use it, Restat to axes. GG - complexx

Pure builds always seem to be the best for people like me, PVE nubs. So I guess I'll go with that, then at 9x I'll actually PvP.

Remember tho if u use robes ur physical defense is not a lot and so 54% extra defense calculated from a small base will still giv u a small increase in total defense...

    wat bout 8 magic 1str 1 vit per 2 lvl? b:pleased

Str is too low then for robes. Maybe 7int/1str/2vit every 2 levels?

    Edit: Actually, yours works too.

I'll be goin pure b:cool just like my wiz.... And then if i change my mind later on i can just stop adding mag for a bit and increase dex and str a bit if i want light armor =P

I'm almost certain i'll stay away from vit though.

I was going to aim for a vitality build. When I played my Veno, I had a heavy vitality build that got a minimum of 2 vit every level.

She hit hard and had fantastic HP, she was superior in PvP to others in her class as well. :p

However, I really have not a clue when it comes to what my build should be for my Psychic... It's such a different concept then other classes.

I think I may go for pure mage and if it's not working out too well, I could always stick some Vit into my diet once I gain more levels.

Yes, you are quite right. I am more interested to hear in ways which the psychic is not related to the mage, perhaps this can tell us which build would be best.

I was thinking of the build that I currently use now.

    8 MAG 1 STR 1 VIT every 2 levels.

It's kind of squishy, but the added HP and physical defense from strength help a lot. And it hits like nobody's business.

I'm going to start with a pure mag build, and then see how the other builds fare. The nice thing about going pure mag is that you can always switch to other builds as you level up, but no other build can switch to pure mag without using reset items.

    i am going for 8mag 1 str 1 vit.

An addition HP is always good in PVP
but was wondering if i hit 90 that wud be like 90 points less in magic, so it will make a big difference at my dmg.

if so then i wud prefer adding 1 point to vit till lvl 59, where u get most of ur skills and start feeling like OP, and then turn into pure build. i mean not restat, after tat 9magic and 1 per 2 lvls.

that way u will hv a decent HP as well as you will not be sacrifising much of ur magic points.

just let me know if i m wrong as i hv never payed a arcane class mroe than lvl 20 :)
