Also, being in a fac gets you helps you grow and learn the game.9 out of 10 voices in my head say I'm not crazy... the 10th is singing the music of tetris0

There are several ways to look at this. Being in a faction that is helpful and active is a good place to be. However being just a member isn't always what people want. However being a faction leader does take a lot of work. Being able to help the faction with many different things, dealing with drama if it pops up, keeping people active takes a lot of time and energy. Myself am online roughly 16+ hours a day. In the end it is how much time/energy you are willing to give to the game.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

if you're going to leave your current faction, make sure you leave it for a bigger faction...
creating new factions on well-established servers is really pointless unless you are creating it for level 80-90+ people
i am of course saying this from the TW standpoint, since really thats one of the only reasons to make/be in a faction...0 -
Lately I've been considering that - if I had it to do all over again - I wouldn't have started a new faction. Dreamweaver is well established by now. Many factions are full and strong. I started my faction (Incarnate) as soon as I was able to with this toon, and now - I still only have 5 real players in it. I try at every corner to recruit new players - be it talking with non-factioned players or trying to find an opening in another player's conversation (ie.. someone who says it will take them a long time to get their TT 70 gear since they always have to pick 4th at best) So I tell em, "come join us - we do distribution differently here, you'll be able to get your gear better". Try as I might to play to their desires, they are steadfast in their current home. Most people want to be in a big, active faction rather than joining a brand new one that is barely populated. They want to know that when they log in, at least 30 other people around their level will be online. At my current level, if I see someone in the same quest spot as me that is not in a faction, odds are they are non-factioned for a pretty good reason. I still give it a shot though, never hurts to try. Sad thing is I've not successfully gotten a new recruit since helping an archer with Krimson a few levels ago (and I level quite slowly b:surrender).
In my opinion, theres too many people eager to start new factions as soon as they hit their 2x levels - mostly because they want to see the title "leader" above their head. There's too many chiefs nowadays, and not enough indians. I'm almost afraid that if my faction doesn't grow in numbers anymore over the next couple months - I may have to disband it. Or else I will leave the faction every couple weeks to join up with some friends in Bushido for some TW action. TW is something I really want to do again, but if my own faction isn't big or strong enough for it.. what else is left to do? Roll on Raging Tide? maybe.. but I have almost a year now invested on this server. I'm not just going to up and leave it now.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

thank you so much for ur input thank you for putting details in it i think i will stay in stealth thank you for all the help0 -
There's been several great answers to this topic already posted as seen on 1st page alone. You have to ask yourself the important question of "Do you want to work like a slave to maintain your own faction?" Being a leader of your own at start isn't bad, you generally round up a few like minded friends and stick close together, but what happens when you start getting more members?
Everyone kinda looks to their leader for everything, need help on something? Leader! Need FB/culti done? Ask leader. How to play this game? Aside from asking leader, someone they feel comfortable with in faction, but if not, leader again. Drama... the final say comes down to the leader! Basically you are at the beck and call of everyone below you and you'd rarely have anyone to rely on if you are at the top of the food chain.
Yes running a faction is alot of dedication, so be sure you can handle it before you plunk in your coins for your own faction. In the end, it all boils down to if you think it is worth it and can you handle all that every day. If you like that kinda thing, go ahead and start one and see how it goes.0 -
Its hard to start your own faction (i did myself i think 2monthes ago) there r so many things u need to counter along the way. On the other hand if u just make a faction for u and ur friends to be in then i'd go ahead ... but if ur friends r from ur faction u need to take in acount that ur current faction might won't be so pleased with it ... cuz u would take alot of members from the faction ... think it over properly before making a faction thats my best advice ^^Dreamsweavers GhostDogz are looking for you to join the pack . We are still small but are growing into a fun, friendly and helpful fact. We value that our lower lvls also get the experience they need for their class, so we get some awsome ppl . all we ask of u is to be okay active (not has to be on 7days a week, 1 is enough) and to bring ur good mood =3 cya ingame!

Calamity, Equinox, HDT, Dynasty and Bushido and I'm sure many others still accept applications, so there ain't too many factions full. What holds people from joining them is the lvl requirement.
As you stated, Dreamweaver is already well built when it comes to factions, there are plenty of small factions and couple bigger ones. However all land is pretty much occupied now, so there's not much room for new small factions right now to enter TW.
So what, there are people out there playing for other reasons than TW and still want to be in a faction. That may be true, but more often than not, when your members reach the lvl 70 plus, they are likely to move into one of the bigger factions and this will prevent you from growing any bigger and will be very frustrating in the end.
I'd suggest joining Bushido, you can't go wrong with that.0 -

TW is FAR from the only reason to be in a faction. My faction has 7 members, as well as our alts. We want nothing to do with TW and the drama it causes. We don't recruit, and we work extremely well together. Everyone gets what they need and there's no BS flying around faction chat cuz of egos and attitudes like you get in a bigger faction. Seems to me like fun and friendship are the reasons to join a faction, not TW.
My advise to you, buddy, stay in your current small faction, unless of coarse you dislike the people in it. I don't recommend leaving and starting your own unless it's going to be just you and your friends playing together.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'll admit, I did try to start my own faction once. Unfortunately, I also wanted to stay with my old faction, since I knew most of the people there, and that's where most of my in-game friends were. It failed. Miserably. I just didn't have the time to devote to this game, what with classes and work.
I'll say this: If you have a lot of time to devote to your new faction and a few people willing to come with you to be the core of your faction, go for it. If you're even slightly attached to stealth and want to keep in contact with a few there, stick with stealth.
By the by, If you ever do leave, don't just quit the faction. Explain why you're leaving, at least to the faction lead. It makes things run so much smoother...I shall dominate the Dreamweaver server through the use of Baked goods...and only baked goods.^^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Venomancers are Female. Barbarians are male. It will forever be this way. So suck it up and deal with it already.0
