So, PvP..

Do you die and drop any items? Chance of drop?

What is the PvP like..is there quite a bit of it, or is this game all PvE End-Game boss , content?

PvP is based on an "Infamy" system, where Pking a whitename, without them dealing damage back, will make you more infamous. You will also gains infamy from pking someone who is fighting back against you, but will only be so for a few minutes. The redder you are (more infamy you have) the higher chance youhave of dropping stuff, unless you carry the cash shop item Gaurdian scroll. The full guide is here http://pwi.perfectworld.com/guide/pvp The whole system is kinda broken and kinda pushes people away from PvP, as it becomes expensive.

Id say the game is mostly PvE-Based. There is alot of PvE related stuff to do. On PvP servers, you are forced into PK mode at 30, PvE servers you get a choice to enter PvP mode for 10 hour intervals at 30. If you play the PvP server Lost City, there is alot of PKing going on. The other PvP server Harshlands is not really PvP-active, so if you like to pvp goto Lost City. PvE servers do have their fair amount of PvP tho. The general idea is that you enter PvP mode by choice, so it is assumed you at least to some extent know how to play.

    PVP : Player Versus Player

    You kill other players characters.

PVE : Player Versus Enemy (or versus environment, sometimes)

    You kill computer controlled characters.

As for PVP penalties, the GM given information is here:

yeah pretty much on a pvp server you can attack whoever you want and anyone can attack you, even when you're questing or killing a boss

You go white name (pk) at lvl 30 . White names do not drop anything if killed. Which means if someone attacks you and you dont attack back your name remains white and wont drop stuff if you die.If you fight back, your name changes colour, you then have a chance to drop stuff if you are killed. The more people YOU kill the darker your name becomes, then the higher the percentage is that you can drop something if killed. Deep red colour is like 50% . Somewhere here is a table of statistics, try forum search link. However , in PvP there is always a chance of 'Gear Shattering' (try forum search)

I just wanted to add that even if you're white named, you still have a chance to drop items when killed. Granted, it's a very low chance, but it can still happen. b:sad

If you want good pvp that is challanging, play on a PVE server and choose to go whitenamed.

There is less complaining about getting killed. The amount of excuses for why they lost will be the same as in a PVP server, but you get far less threats of being reported to the GMs for killing them, which for some reason, it seems to be all the rage on the PVP servers now.
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

That. I've seen too many times [on Dreamweaver] that ppl just QQ 'cos their stuff where stolen while them were only 'Pking for fun'.

That, or if there comes someone [blue named] who takes their stuff while they still dead.

Then there is a lot of QQ WC Drama, ppl end hating them for their QQ and there is a lot of WC Drama more.

Thats annoying, since being a red name it's your choice, so dropping items it's your fault.

Thankfully, white name doesn't drop anything anymore, so just wait till I'm higher level, with a bunch of GS to 'start being infamous red'... <_<
