Update: I have inserted the answer below the question.

I am installing PW on a new computer, one with Windows 7 on it, so I had thought that the Vista/7 one would be the correct one to download.
I assumed that the Vista/7 one had support for the different way some permissions work in Vista/7, esp. location of data, registry entries and so on.

Luckily someone posted the same question in the general forum (http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=545981) which I saw.
To sum that thread up eatwithspoons says that the second poster is correct:
Vista/7 download = 64 bit.
XP download = 32 bit.

Note: Both installer downloads appear to be the same size (1500 MB + 1034 MB), so it would be highly unlikely that one contains both 32/64 bit, while the other only 32 bit. Also Windows XP/Vista/7 all come in both 32 and 64 bit flavours.

Is the above information correct?

I would like to install it on Windows 7 32 bit.
Which installer do I download?
The only difference between the two are the default directory of where the game is installed .

Win XP version installs to: C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

Win Vista/7 version installs to: C:\Games\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

Vista and 7 like to protect the Program Files directory, which some apps and games give some issues on. So for Vista and 7, it is easier to install into a different directory besides Program Files (and on 64bit Vista/7 (x86) Program Files).

You are correct, there are not separate 32 & 64 bit exes, the difference is the location of install because of UAC permissions. It's right here in the FAQ so I'm not sure why misinformation was being spread. http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=741681&postcount=3

i have a laptop running windows 7 32 bit - it runs the vista/7 version just fine. In fact - I never bothered to question whether or not the game was 64 bit optimized.
